Backcountry's own Waas ALLIED Down Hooded Jacket mixes good looks with good tech to help us layer up in the coldest weather. Made with Responsible Down Standard-certified 800-fill goose down, this puffy provides some of the best warmth for the weight on the market, and it packs down small into its own pocket for stash-and-go layering when we're skiing, snowboarding, and backpacking. Warm and packable, this is a new addition to our ski and snowboarding kits for playing in high alpine conditions.

Got this jacket for my partner in the spring, and came back to review it now since he wore it all spring and has been wearing it all fall too! Such a great down jacket, the baffling is different than any other brands I've seen and I really love it. Super lightweight and packable, easy to throw in a bag when you're headed on a trip and need a down layer. I love that it's a great piece in terms of technicality and warmth to weight, and is also very good-looking and has some fun eye-catching specs and colors. Got the green and love the color, genuinely feel like I can't say enough good things about this jacket overall!

I love pretty much everything about this jacket. A few super minor things that would put it completely over the top for me … chunkier, two-way zipper, and a hanging loop. Like I said, totally minor. I have the matching pants, and they are amazing as well.

I have had jackets from numerous brands over the years at a variety of price points, with applications ranging from casual/lifestyle to snow/ski-specific. THIS JACKET just might be in the sweet spot! I haven't had the chance to test it under my shell while skiing, but it has already been keeping me comfortable in below-freezing temps and snow in Colorado. The exterior chest pocket is a cool touch, and I think it adds a distinguishing factor setting it apart from the myriad other puffer jackets available on the market.
