Perfect Size for Home or the Road
Perfect Size for Home or the Road. Portable and great for the backyard or the neighbor's beachhouse when you are in charge of meals. The small cooking chamber holds the heat well and the hopper box is just the right size for overnight cooks like brisket, pork butts, or beef ribs. Holds the tempertaure well. I like this one so much I take it as one of the grills in my competition cooking aresenal. Terrific price for the versatility.

Disappointment
Doesnt seem like it's a target grill. Not made to last. Mine is 2 years and the plastic lid hinges both broke and the legs are wobbly. I really don't like the all electronic controls. Just doesn't work like the bigger Traeger.

Piece of junk
So glad I got this for free from zyn. Cause I wouldn’t pay a dime for it. It’s a piece of junk. The manual you get is useless. It’s won’t hold temp for anything. It garbage. Do not buy the tailgatter

Junk
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Broke out of the box. No power to unit. Not impressed with this supposed great product of a traeger. Glad I did not buy a large one

Cannot recommend the Tailgater 20
Does not maintain set temperature. It has always run about 35 degrees hotter than what was set and now no matter what you set, it jumps to 245 degrees and stays there. I cannot recommend a product that cost this much and fails this miserably.

Very cute and versatile
While we have a full size Traeger at our house, we also have a Tailgater at our apartment out on the balcony. Don’t let this cute little guy fool you, it is awesome! It can do anything my full sized grill can, but in many cases, better. We do chicken, rack of lamb, and ribs regularly. Last night we cranked it up to 450 degrees and cooked the best veal chops we have ever had! Love it!

Bad performance
This will not stay fired up at the 80 setting. Been that way since day one. I have owned it for 8 years and while it works fine at 225 and higher the smoke setting and the 180 sitting is useless

I love my new traeger
I like the new controls on the tailgater better than the knob on my bronson model. I can better fine tune the temp and it holds a more consistent temp. Zero complaints.

Throws codes = fails on smoke and lower temps
Cooks fine on high, but when smoking or trying a notch or two up it shuts down with different codes. Happens frequently. Cleaned it out, tested it on high and worked. Guests arrive for a meal and it went out "codes" on hour two of the smoke. Tried a second time the next day just putting in half the pets in the hopper, still threw an error code after keeping an eye on it all day. Restarted it and concern with large temp variances as well, ready to throw this out along with the pellets.

Nothing low and slow for me!!
I can't cook anything low and slow. The minimum temperature the grill will maintain is 250-280 degrees regardless of what temperature I set below that. Set 180 grill maintains a temp of 250-280, set 225 maintains a temp of 250-280. Higher temps above 280 it maintains temperature fine. But I can not anything cook low and slow! So no brisket no pork butt no ribs. Severally limits what I can cook on this grill.....very disappointing I can only cook half the meats I want to!!
