Short People Problem
Would be nice to get a platform bike rack where it is not necessary to life the bike (in my case) over my head. Years ago there was the raceway platform trunk rack and was quite easy for short people (4'10") to use. Thank you for making great products!

Just Nope
I looked at this rack likely for the same reasons you're checking it out. 1. Platform based instead of hanging -> better for carbon frames. 2. Holds bike high & away from any toasty exhaust -> better for carbon rims 3. Fits my mountain & gravel bike But: 1. It's too heavy to put on & take off as needed, and 2. Too heavy for the struts of any modern hatch (installed in on a Volvo XC40 & Subraru Forester. 3. Even when cleaning both the surfaces & the rack prior to installing, the rack has always left scratch marks or some degree of damage on the car. 4. Water collects in all the wrong places & no amount of WD40 will slow down the racks aging. First year the two legs that attach to the bottom of the truck were tough, but able to wrestle them to length. After a few seasons (indoor storage) - no way. The rack works - but for this price point, it doesn't last and I'd really expect a more thoughtful build quality.

Maybe mine was defective
Used twice, both times the arm detached from the bike on the highway causing bike to hang on by only tire straps. First time I said maybe I did something wrong, second time was 100% sure to follow all the instructions , same result, lucky bike and car were ok.

Design flaw issues
The first one I purchased we had to return after trying to install the rack for over an hour, the cords that you pull out to attach to the top of your vehicle hatch would not engage to tighten no matter how many knob turns made. The replacement rack had a similar issue on the passanger side and the key wouldn't work in the locks, I had to have my machinist brother file the key down to work and then spend another hour Jimmy rigging the one side to get it to tighten properly. Used the rack for a week long camping trip, the cord on that side keeps going loose. I've had the rack for about a month now and I'm very sad to have spent so much money on such poor quality product.

Solid fit
Bought the Thule Platform for our bikes. While a little hard to install, it was solid on the vehicle.

Great product
Love it. you can leave it on the car or once you have it set up it very easy to put on and take off. Also i like that the bikes sit higher so it does not effect review camera.

Didn’t fit Volvo xc60
I purchased the product as it has potential to be an excellent solution to not having a hitch, but also not wanting to use the roof rack for my bike. I ordered the rack to the specifications of my 2019 Volvo XC60, and unfortunately it didn’t fit. The hooks don’t fit at the top of the hatch. They need to really be jammed in, which was difficult to do without damaging the car. Once in, the hatch won’t open without damaging the car. Could potentially be a great solution if it fit properly, which I suspect it does for some cars out there. But not for a volvo xc60.

Excellent for vehicle without hitch
I bought this bike rack this spring and I love it. It is mounted on a 2015 Subaru Outback, my roof rack was already loaded with a Thule Force Alpine and the two of them fit well. It cleared my back up camera and plates, bikes hold up tight on any road, take about 15 min to install and adjust and attaching the bike can be tricky sometime, but no big deal. My only negative point is that my hatch doesn’t hold up open when using it (too heavy) and don’t even think to open it with bike. But you adapt!

Perfect for mountain bikes
Bought this a few weeks back and very happy with the product. I recommend a second person for installation (mainly to hold the tailgate open slightly) and the rest is a breeze. The removable arms are crucial for attaching and locking your bikes securely no matter the shape of your frame. Feel sturdy and rides smooth on the back of the car. Recommend minor tightening after your first trip to make sure it is settled and secured. Highly recommend for those who don’t have a hitch and need a platform style rack. There is some movement in the platform when driving over bumps, but I feel this is intentional in the design to relieve pressure off the frame. Nothing concerning!
