ThermoBall Eco Snow Triclimate Jacket delivers 3-in-1 warmth and waterproof versatility
What Our Gearhead® Experts Are Saying:
“I take this jacket everywhere—on the mountain, around town, even on trips. The 3-in-1 system gives me options for any weather, and the ThermoBall liner is warm, lightweight, and looks good on its own. It’s seriously one of the most versatile jackets you can own.”
From icy lift rides to post-slope evenings in town, The North Face ThermoBall Eco Snow Triclimate Jacket adapts to every part of our winter day. Its 3-in-1 design pairs a waterproof DryVent shell with a removable, insulated midlayer—giving us total flexibility whether we’re chasing powder, hiking snowy trails, or heading out for dinner after the lifts close.
The outer shell’s fully sealed seams and helmet-compatible hood keep us dry in heavy snow, while underarm vents and a fixed powder skirt maintain comfort when things heat up. Inside, the zip-in ThermoBall Eco liner uses recycled synthetic insulation to trap warmth without bulk, and doubles as a stylish standalone layer on milder days. With multiple secure pockets for passes, goggles, and essentials, this jacket keeps us ready for any adventure—on or off the mountain.

So Sad - An otherwise great jacket is RUINED by bad zipper
I am really bummed. An otherwise great jacket is made unusable by a crappy "water repellent" zipper which breaks down after a couple of years. Sections of teeth often won't lock or stray locked.

Not great: Fit and features
The fit of this jacket is quite boxy. The inner layer, when attached to the shell, makes the powder skirt unusable. If you want to use the powder skirt, the inner layer cannot be zipped to the outer shell. Powder skirt could also use two sets of snaps, for size adjustability.

Warm jacket with great fit and features
I purchased this jacket primarily for downhill skiing in Colorado and it has been excellent. I love all the pockets and the fit. I'm 5'11", 165 and the medium fits well. It is longer than my last jacket, but not so long as to be a problem. I wear a 40oz camelback under the jacket when skiing, which makes the fit just a little bit snug, but workable. Today I skied in zero degree weather (fahrenheit) and it kept me pretty warm. I also appreciate the NorthFace quality - i had previously purchased a similar jacket from Columbia, but the zippers and overall construction were cheap and not built to last.

Was this designed for lefties?
Size small runs just large enough for me. 5'7", 140#. Very warm, even without liner. Missing is two way zipper and secure pocket for wallet inside shell. For some reason front upper pocket is on Right side. Why? Was this designed for lefties? It sure would be nice to have two front pockets.

Best Winter Jacket to have
I have brought this Jacket in 2022, during my first year in USA and in Philadelphia. The winter was little harsh and was in 15 Degree Centigrade most of the time and with heavy winds. This jacket was a wonderful winter gear and it helped me stay warm and commute to office. As the old jacket worn out over the last two years in 2024 December, I brought the newer version of the same jacket and I am very happy with the same. I have recommended the same across to most of my friends. Totally worth the money, provided you buy it with a good discount.
