Why We Like The North Face Summit FUTUREFLEECE LT 1/2-Zip Pullover

Whether we are out for a casual hike or pushing for the summit, the Summit FUTUREFLEECE LT 1/2-Zip Pullover from The North Face is one of our favorite pullovers for getting after it. This pullover works great as a base layer on colder days or we use it as our only layer on hotter days. the half-zip construction allows us to customize our airflow, and the extended collar adds warmth. Thumb loops keep our sleeves in place as we are plunging our ice axes into the snow, and the absence of shoulder seams enhances our comfort when we are wearing a backpack.

Here's what customers have to say

The product is generally well-received for its lightweight yet warm and versatile design. Customers praise its comfort, breathability, and effectiveness as a layering piece in cold weather. However, some have reported quality issues like fraying or misaligned seams, and a few felt the material was thinner than expected or not worth the price. Overall, the consensus is that this is a high-quality, well-designed mid-layer that performs excellently for active outdoor use.

Not what I needed and now I wore it...

I just wore this for the first time today. I bought it to have something high viz to rollerski in. Although it felt good when I tried it on; once out on the roads it was a bit too slim and constricting for me. I'm 5'9", 150lbs; and bought a small, which is my usual TNF size. I think for running it'd be fine but not for anything with upper body movement.

Quality is not worth the price

For a price of nearly $200.00, this item is extremely disappointing. It is very flimsy and lightweight. The collar is not even strong enough to hold itself into position. Finally, the logo isn't even stitched on, but is instead just screen printed. It's not horrible but the quality simply does not justify the cost.

My favorite light fleece

I have been wearing this now for few years and I love it. It is good 2nd/3rd layer in the cool weather or you can put on down jacket on top of it when it is cold. I just bought the second one.

Does the job well!

Like the other reviewers I was skeptical about how thin the material was. However, after wearing it snowboarding and Nordic skiing as a mid layer, it is awesome. The only downside I can tell is that the thumb holes are aligned in a way that sort of twists the sleeves. Also the seam line across the chest can be a little annoying to feel. Otherwise, warm and worth the upgrade.

Summit Series 1/4 zip

I purchased this Summit Series 1/4 zip to replace another one that ripped. This one is nice, but a little thicker than the previous version, which I still like better as it's lighter and more breathable. This one is fine for now.

Great Piece of Gear

Familiarity:

I’ve had this for about a month and I’ve already bought two more. This is light, warm, and has a perfect for me. Even the next fits when fully zipped. I am 5’10” 165lbs and snagged a small. The zipper allows for easy on/off and I appreciate that there is no hood. The absence of a hood keeps weight and cost down yet it leads to easier layering. This shirt is fine on its own in 30° active pursuits and gets warmer if you cover it with a wind jacket. Covering the fleece will lead to a longer log because it is a very soft material that can snag when the inevitable bushwhacking begins.

Extremely please

Lighter but warmer than expected. Can tell it will be great for a mid layer out in the cold.

Super Light Weight Layer

Familiarity:
I've used it several times
Size Bought:

I don't like heavyweight fleece layers, and when running errands in and out of stores, I like to wear a lighter jacket so I don't melt in a store. Future fleece pairs well with the lighter jacket to maintain a comfortable level of warmth for those situations. The same concept goes with my morning walking layers when temperatures drop into the teens or higher single digits. Future fleece is a versatile layer and I own several pieces with and without the hood. Future fleece is a comfortable option for me

Exceeded expectations!

Didn't really know what to expect since this was my first time buying "FUTUREFLEECE". Assumed it was like any other fleece but I am glad I was wrong. The material is much more lightweight allowing for easier layering. The material is deceiving thin but is as warm all the other fleece jackets I've owned. Definitely would recommend to friends, family or anyone looking for a lightweight fleece option.
