I really wanted to like this fleece, but the fit is VERY slim (I ordered a Large so I could layer it over things and it's almost too tight around my hips with nothing under, I'm usually a Medium or a Large). Definitely a base layer. The construction and materials seem quality except the zipper which was small, thin, and a bit flimsy (I guess to make it lightweight but it made zipping the jacket tricky- not what I want to be fiddling with on the trail). Unfortunately have to return it- it seems very warm, especially for it's weight and has very nice thumb holes!
