too large as a carry-on for many airlines
The dimensions on this bag exceeds the maximum carry-on bag dimensions for many airlines I use (Air Canada, Lufthansa etc). Why would North Face design a bag intended for carry-on to be larger than the maximum dimensions allowed by airlines?

Basecamp Carryon
Like the size, but the retractable handle jammed/broke on just my second trip. NF gave a credit, which did not cover the entire cost to return and reorder. Not the greatest experience, but hope to have better luck with the replacement.

Great Travel Companion
The wheel are tough and sturdy and easily traverse the jet ways and jump on to the plane. Fits easily down the aisle and rolls smoothly to your destination. I like the zippers and sipper pulls but they could be a little stiffer as sometimes if not packed full you really have to tug on them to get them moving. We will see how the nylon bottom and side hold up to airport luggage handlers as well as the telescoping handles but combine with the larger one I can have my essentials with me as the rest of my gear rides securely down below.

Small but sturdy.
Durable and easy to transport. On the small side of carry ons. Soft shell helps with packing.

Unsure if I would buy again.
It is a nice bag, made well. I love the bright yellow color which allows it to be easily seen. Wheels and handle seem nice and sturdy. No quality issues with it after 1 use. My only issue is, it is classified as carry on but it a bit big for Delta's carry on requirements. It makes me nervous that they will force me to check it and that defeats the whole purpose of Carry on. I would remove the laptop area and reduce the height and width by 1" and it would be perfect. I generally travel with a backpack and one wheeled bag and try to never check luggage.

Amazing..just used it for a 10 day ski trip! Was awesome that everything fit and felt secure. It fit nicely on the plane either way no issues and rolled smoothly through the airport. Excellent product

Best carry on bag on the market
Ok - so this is hands on the best carry on bag (40L) on the market. Depending on the trip you are going on. This is a perfect 1-5 day carry on bag that fits easily on all flights/all airlines. Its design and sturdiness are second to none. It has plenty of pouches/organization for all your needs. Toiletries, laptop/electronics, etc. It's super well built and I absolutely love this. For the price you can't beat it. Don't hesitate. Best weekender bag on the market.

Love this bag!
I love, love, love this bag! I immediately took it with me on a trip to Tanzania, and it weathered the trip super well. The wheels and telescoping handle are really smooth, the bright color means I can easily spot it among other bags, and the waterproof material is great. I like that it's a clamshell style so I can keep well organized with certain things on each side, and I used the outer pocket for my laptop and papers which was very convenient. It did get pretty dirty and I haven't been able to quite get it clean, but eh, I guess the dirt it lends character.
