Great Hat, Sizing Chart Not Correct

Lovely hat and affordable for Stetson. I used the Stetson size chart and had my wife measure my head twice. According to chart, I should be right in the middle of size large. I was skeptical but reasoned that since it’s a unisex hat, maybe it runs a bit smaller than typical small, medium, large. Unfortunately it was way too big. Backcountry doesn’t have a medium size for whatever reason so I had to return.

I opted for the XL size in light brown (mushroom) so that I would have enough room back-to-front for my oval shaped head. This meant that it was a bit loose on the sides but that was simple to fix. I just inserted the correct width of hat size reducer foam in the sides (purchased separately). Since the hat has a comfortable band on the inside the foam can be fastened directly to the inside of the hat and the band then folded back over - making my customization discreet and unlikely to move. I have many hats and this one gets the most frequent use. It looks good and serves the function of sheltering from the sun well. The brim was wider than I expected but looking at the pictures on the website again I don't know how I expected the brim to be any smaller than it truly is! Anyway, it's not a problem. The brim is the best size, that is at least what my brain has adjusted to now.
