Buxton Lite Lace Plus Waterproof Boot keeps feet warm, dry, and supported in winter

What Our Gearhead® Experts Are Saying:

"I wear these when I want something winter-ready without the bulk. They're warm, waterproof, and the EVA midsole keeps things light on slushy commutes or casual snow hikes. The rubber outsole grips better than you'd expect from something this streamlined."

We’re all for rugged winter boots, but sometimes we just want something lighter without giving up protection—and that’s where the Buxton Lite Lace Plus Waterproof Boot delivers. Built with seam-sealed construction, suede and PU-coated leather, and 200g of insulation, this boot handles cold, wet days like a pro, whether we’re walking the dog, heading into town, or getting outside after a snowstorm.

Underfoot, the lightweight EVA midsole cushions each step, while a molded rubber outsole grips slippery sidewalks and frozen trails alike. The removable EVA footbed adds comfort and support, and the low-profile shaft keeps the boot easy to wear all day. If you're looking for a winter boot that blends warmth, waterproofing, and a lighter feel, this one's got your back.

Very Pleased

I have extreme foot issues and have a pair of SOREL slippers that I wear daily for the past two years to control my foot pain so I decided to try a pair of shoes for them . I is not the solution to my problem but it seems to be the best option that I have tried so far. I’m very pleased with the results of the shoes that I’ve purchased.

Good shoes for the money!

The shoes were very comfortable. I wore it all day in the snow when we were in Finland. It is not as insulated as I expected it to be. My feet were cold after a few hours outside especially during subzero or low temperature at night. I was already wearing wool socks.

Not made for any form of distance walking.

These shoes hurt across the roof of the foot, where the rubber waterproofing meets the fabric material. I tend to walk around 10-12 miles across a mix of urban and rural settings. I am an avid walker and have had many different brands across the years. These boots started to dig into the roof of the feet within half a mile of flat terrain, I always wear premium walking socks but that should not matter. Sadly, I am having major issues with getting a refund for these boots, the experience with Sorel has been really poor. I have swapped to another well known hiking boot manufacturer, managed 14 miles on the first walk, no issues at all. I would not recommend this boot for any form of walking.

Thank you Sir, may I please have another.

Huge fan of Sorel so I am admittedly a bit biased. Bought a pair of caribous when I was 13 and still wear them today at 50. Love their slippers as well though they are not quite as durable. Wore these boots everyday for a three week trip through German Christmas markets, tobogganing on Mt. Titlis in Switzerland and Disneyland Paris. Temps never got above 34 degrees and were well below freezing most of the time. These boots are super comfortable and at no time were my feet even chilly. I recommend an insole for those who want more arch support and be aware of the lack of grommet for the second eyelet when tying them (they really should add a grommet there). One of the best pairs of shoes I have ever owned. Tempted to buy a second pair so I have another when the pair I have now wear out.

Design flaw

Great shoe but eyelet broke through after only a couple of months. The eyelet on other shoe is also about to break. This is a design flaw on an otherwise great shoe. For the price, this should be covered under warranty.
