"These Tributary Wading Boots have been an awesome addition to my river gear. The synthetic leather and mesh uppers are durable and breathable, and I love the neoprene lining—it makes getting in and out so much easier. The felt sole gives me solid traction on slippery rocks, and the fully gusseted tongue keeps out annoying debris."

Dangerous to use without studs

These are potentially a great boot. The build quality is great. I used them a couple of days hiking into Bear Trap Canyon and they are quite comfortable offering great support on the trail. The problem comes when you get in the water. Madison River rocks aren’t really slick by my standards. I used a pair of a competitor boots for the 5 days before I got these and had no issues with slipping. The compound that Simms used in the rubber is clearly not acceptable for wading. Unless you plan to use studs, stay well clear of these unfortunately.

Wade Boots

I know these boots were not made for Salt water but have held up well considering the conditions. Great book for the price. .

Nice boot but. . .

I have used this felt sole boot the past 3 years and they been wonderful and durable as I fish 2x/month year round. I mistakenly ordered the rubber sole this time. I have used them one day and I fell once in the river and almost 2 additional times. The last time I fell in river was maybe 5 years ago, its rare. The rubber soles have to be liability for Simms and the only way I can now to try and make these boots safe are to add the screw in studs. Fingers crossed and beware of the rubber soles.

Great wading boot

I give these 5 stars as I have put somewhere around 300 days or more fishing my first pair of these and have put 20 or so on a second because the sole cracked on the first. I fish the Rio Grande in New Mexico several days a year crawling on the volcanic rock, boulders, cactus, sage and they have held up to it. I have tortured these boots and they held as long as any other guides much more expensive boots. I only wish I could get them with about a 3rd the volume as I have a size 13 B foot and have to fill lots of space with wading socks. Even still I bought a second pair.

Great boots

Excellent books. Rugged enough but lighter than expected. I need to put studs in them for maximum traction. Would definitely recommend and buy again.
