What Our Gearhead® Experts Are Saying:
"The G3 Guide Boot is built to last. The Vibram® Idrogrip outsole grips slick riverbeds better than anything else I’ve worn, and the rugged work-boot construction makes it feel bombproof. I love that it’s compatible with Simms cleats and studs for even more traction when wading tough waters. Whether I’m guiding or just fishing hard all season, this boot keeps me stable and comfortable in any conditions."
Long days in the river demand a boot that won’t back down, and the Simms G3 Guide Boot delivers the durability, traction, and comfort we need to keep fishing. Built with high-abrasion mesh, synthetic and natural rubber, and scratch-resistant overlays, this boot withstands seasons of rugged wading.
The Vibram® Idrogrip outsole with Traction Lug technology enhances wet-slip resistance by 20% over standard Idrogrip, giving us confidence on slick rocks and shifting riverbeds. Compatible with Simms Hardbite and Alumibite cleats and studs, this boot allows for added traction in extreme conditions. Built with traditional work-boot construction and re-soling options, the G3 Guide Boot is a lifetime investment in comfort and stability on the water.

G3 boots
Boots look great. I use the flats sneakers for wet wading in the summer. Will get more use out of the g3s once it cools off.

G3 Guide Wading Boots
Excellent fit and extraordinary attention detail on the build of this boot. What I come to expect from Simms and once again they did not disappoint. This is an excellent wading boot.

Fly fisher
Haven’t had them wet yet but they fit well, look great and appear to be made well with quality materials. I chose them for Simms reputation for quality and durability. Not disappointed.

Sufficient but not comfortable
Boots do their job and do it VERY well but they are not very comfortable on MY FOOT… My hunting buddy says his are super comfortable. I’d buy again but just wish they felt more like wearing a hiking boot

G3 lugged bottom
Half a dozen days on the river, so far so good. 6-8 hr wading trips. Pretty darn comfortable for a wading boot. Always like the Vibrahm soles.

Just Alright
I made a snap decision on buying these because my fishing season was coming up fast and the G4’s I wanted weren’t in stock in my size. I should have waited because these boots are just a tab bulky for me but the soles still hold my alumi cleats which is always nice for slippery rocks (highly recommend). My left foot is fine tying down tight but my right inside ankle rubs real back with the tongue overlap that folds in when you tie the laces down. So, I’ve had to start lacing up and pull the tab up and out of the way to not have it rub super badly. My other input is that the material I’m not a fan of but it holds up to everything I walk through which is a plus, I just got used to the previous G4 style ‘leather’ feeling boots. If I knew they were going to change I would have bought 3 sets of them before they already went out of stock for good.
