Ultegra CS-R8000 Cassette delivers pro-level performance with lasting value
What Our Gearhead® Experts Are Saying:
“The CS-R8000 shifts as smooth as Dura-Ace but saves you some serious cash. It’s durable, quiet, and gives you all the range you need for everything from steep climbs to flat-out crits.”
When precision and dependability matter most, the Shimano Ultegra CS-R8000 Cassette gives us the same crisp, reliable shifting found in the brand’s top-tier drivetrains—without the premium price tag. Designed for riders who demand performance across every terrain, it offers a wide range of gearing options suited for racing, training, or tackling long climbs.
Each cog is nickel-plated steel for durability and smooth transitions, mounted on a lightweight aluminum carrier to keep the weight down. Whether we’re grinding up alpine passes or sprinting for the line, the R8000’s perfectly tuned shift ramps deliver that signature Shimano feel—quiet, precise, and utterly reliable mile after mile.

Evo upgrade
- Familiarity:
- I've used it several times
Ultegra CS R8000 rear cassette is a great cassette. It’s the only cassette I use, I have just done a Dura Ace R9100 upgrade on my Evo and I use this cassette due to durability and price.

14-28 - perfect for a smart trainer
- Familiarity:
- I've put it through the wringer
Closely spaced ratios make it easier to hit my targeted power and cadence levels during interval training, without resorting to erg mode.

Nothing beats ultegra
- Familiarity:
- I've put it through the wringer
For training and racing this is the one. If you have all the money get the dura ace. If you are self sponsored go with the ultegra. I'm getting 5000 miles out of them. So I go through two dura ace chain's for each cassette and the shifting stays crisp. Big chainring at 10,000 cassette at 5000 and chain at 3000. Your results may vary depending on cleanliness

This is the best performance and value If you have all the money you need,, then by all means get the dura ace. I go through two or three a year so the ultegra is for me.

Shimano 11 speed 11x32 cassette. FANTAST
- Familiarity:
- I've put it through the wringer
I've been running same cassette for 10 speed, 11x33, and NEVER A PROBLEM. Probably 25,000 miles on the old one and looking forward to the same with this one, on new Pinarello Prince. Never had a problem with any Shimano product and all products are both mechanic and user friendly!

better than good enough
- Familiarity:

The ultegra cassette is the sweet spot in the price/weight/durability spectrum of shimano (and other brands) cassettes. My go-to for training and racing. I ride about 8k miles/year

High quality, light, easy to install, good price, smooth shifting and comes in a wide range of tooth options. I use the integra cassettes on both my ultegra and 105 rigged bikes; bought this one for a gravel rig I am building. No complaints ever.

Will this cassette work on my Warbird that has SRAM Rival? Currently running SRAM 11 speed 11/32.
