Phantom Tech HD Boot fuses warmth, precision, and ultralight alpine performance

What Our Gearhead® Experts Are Saying:

“The Phantom Tech HD is my go-to boot for technical ice—warm, dry, and shockingly light. The HDry liner and integrated gaiter keep my feet bone dry even after hours on vertical ice, and the Fast Lock lacing gets that snug, secure fit you need for delicate placements.”

For alpine athletes chasing vertical ice and mixed terrain, the Scarpa Phantom Tech HD Mountaineering Boot stands at the cutting edge of lightweight performance. Every detail—from the integrated gaiter to the carbon-reinforced sole—has been fine-tuned for maximum warmth, precision, and protection in punishing alpine conditions.

The waterproof Schoeller® Ecorepel Bio gaiter and HDry® laminate create an impenetrable barrier against snow and meltwater, while PrimaLoft® Gold insulation ensures warmth without weight. Inside, Scarpa’s Sock-Fit XT construction and Fast Lock closure wrap the foot securely, eliminating bulk for exceptional sensitivity and stability on vertical ice. Underfoot, the Vibram® Precision Tech Roll sole with Durastep rubber grips confidently across rock, snow, and glassy ice.

We love that Scarpa managed to pack this level of warmth, support, and waterproofing into a boot that weighs just 800 grams per pair—a true testament to Italian craftsmanship and modern alpine innovation.

Gaiters are garbage

Familiarity:
I've used it several times

Great boots but gaiters are piece of junk. Extremely delicate material is punched/cut by crampons easily.

What can you say their Phantom tech hds possible the best technical climbing boot made. Scrapa is great if u have wider feet. Cassin Alpinist tech crampons fit perfectly. Sooo light it's almost unbelievable after moving from la sportiva Nepal's feet haven't gotten cold in them once yet with only 1 pair of socks. Stopped carrying approach shoes because these are not at all bad even with the marathon approaches we have here in the North Cascades. Love em the price might be off putting (my wife thought so lol) but worth every penny.
