Why We Like The Fuego Boot

Ready for our toughest backpacking trips, Scarpa suited the Fuego specifically for Wildland fire crews, with a one-piece, Italian Crosta leather that's waxed for long-lasting durability. By leaving out a rubber rand, Scarpa made sure the fire crews wouldn't have to deal with rubber melting off the boot. The higher cuff provides proper support when you're hauling a heavy load, and there's a footbed and EVA midsole for underfoot comfort. The Vibram M4 Tech sole ensures the stability you need to cover miles and miles.

Finally found the best boot

Familiarity:
I've put it through the wringer
Size Bought:
45.5
Weight:

Working for the Parks department gets you involved in loads of different tasks, from trail work, general construction at the cabins, to brush fires and SAR activities. I've always fumbled with multiple boots for different tasks but that's a thing of the past. These Fuego boots are just that. They are exceedingly comfortable, never blister my feet, keep them well protected, and on the off chance I'm not working in a park or on the homestead, I can take these hiking and ice climbing and they never let me down. I've had Merrels, Danner, Redwing, LLBean and everything in between and nothing compares. Definitely try them on a get a feel for what size is best for you as it is certainly a hefty investment. I got 45.5 for myself, I usually wear anywhere from 11.5-12.5 depending on the brand.

Great Boots

I am on my third pair. They are great boots. They are a little on the hot side. They are one of the few hiker style boots that stand up to the heat of mopping up.
