Trail-taming speed and precision meet in the Tallboy Carbon C S, a fast and playful short-travel ripper
What Our Gearhead Experts Are Saying:
"The Tallboy Carbon C S is my favorite all-rounder. It climbs efficiently, handles technical trails with confidence, and still feels fast and playful on descents. With 120mm of VPP rear suspension and a FOX 34 fork up front, this bike thrives on everything from quick singletrack laps to all-day backcountry rides."
Blurring the line between an aggressive XC machine and a full-blown trail bike, the Tallboy Carbon C S delivers speed, precision, and confidence over any terrain. Santa Cruz's refined VPP suspension system maximizes pedaling efficiency while soaking up big hits, making this short-travel rig a powerhouse on both climbs and descents.
With 120mm of rear travel and a FOX 34 Float Performance fork offering 130mm up front, the Tallboy Carbon C S is built for fast, playful riding. The Carbon C frame balances lightweight efficiency with durability, while a SRAM GX Eagle drivetrain ensures smooth shifting through technical terrain. Maxxis tires provide grip in variable conditions, and RaceFace wheels with e*thirteen hubs keep things rolling reliably. Whether pushing hard on steep climbs or flowing down chunky singletrack, this bike is ready for anything.

What an improvement!

I bought a Large Tallboy C S to replace a ten year old bike I recently had stolen. I was happy riding my old bike but I was unaware how much of an improvement a modern bike would be. The Tallboy is a shorter travel bike than my previous bike and I thought that would be a downgrade but a modern bike with modern suspension, geometry and components makes up for the 10mm difference in travel. I’m not a serious biker, I’d consider myself a beginner to intermediate rider, and the trails I ride/prefer will be perfect for this bike. I’m not riding bike park stuff but I want more than a cross country trail. This bike will allow me to progress and it will keep up with my riding for a long time. I was pleasantly surprised by the looks of the bike as there weren’t many pictures to reference this specific color way online. It’s not flashy but has enough color to break up the matte black frame. The gear heads I communicated with about a small scuff on one of the wheel stickers were great as well. This is the first new bike I’ve owned since maybe I was under 10 years old and I couldn’t be happier with my purchase. I plan on riding this bike for quite a while, I see no reason to upgrade anytime soon.

Bought this with the 35% off deal going. Great ride so far. At my size this is the first bike that actually fits me. Lightweight and the drop post on the seat is a great combo. Upgrading from a 2009 Santa Cruz Blur LT2 so it was a major upgrade!
