NOT for trail running!

I love Salomon trail running shoes and have worn them for years. I bought these GORE-TEX trail runners for running in wet, rainy conditions. However, I can't run more than a quarter mile in these without serious pain and discomfort. The GORE-TEX material makes the shoes stiff and unyielding and creates an odd sensation (and sound) with each push off the ground because there is no "give" in the footbed. When you run, you need cushioned support. These have no cushion. Even worse, there are random places along the top and sides of the shoe where the material presses so hard into my toes, the top of my foot, and my ankle that the pain while running is unbearable. If you have really tough feet, these shoes may be okay for walking or hiking. But I can't imagine anyone running far with these on without keeling over in agony. I am returning them and will stick to regular Salomon trail runners.

Fit wasn't quite right

I had high hopes for this shoe given its features and a great price point, but the fit just wasn't good for me. It wasn't quite too big, but it didn't hug or wrap my foot the way I was wanting it too for security and stability out on the trail. I was looking for something with a bit more arch support maybe? and the way this shoe fit my foot, that was missing. I'll keep trying because I have a pair of old Salomons that I love, so maybe my cinderella shoe is out there. This pair went back to the store.
