S/LAB Spectur Shoe blends carbon propulsion with stable support for fast, efficient runs

What Our Gearhead® Experts Are Saying:

"This shoe has legit race-day energy with everyday versatility. The carbon plate gives me snap on toe-off, but it’s stable enough that I don’t feel beat up after long miles. It’s a solid pick if you’re chasing PRs or just want to move fast without compromising comfort."

We’ve all chased speed, but the Salomon S/LAB Spectur makes it feel like we’ve already caught it. With its full-length energyBLADE carbon plate, this road runner is built to launch us forward, stride after stride, with a propulsive toe-off and smooth transitions that stay locked in from the first mile to the last. Designed for athletes who demand race-day performance and training-day durability, it wraps powerful tech in a surprisingly supportive package.

The dual-density foam midsole—featuring SalomonFOAM and SalomonFOAM+—delivers spring-loaded rebound without losing its structure over time. Meanwhile, the Reverse Camber geometry keeps our momentum fluid, letting us roll through the run with minimal ground contact. Seamless construction and a soft collar deliver a snug, irritation-free fit, and Road Contagrip® adds sticky grip for wet roads or sharp corners. Stable, fast, and ready for the road ahead, the S/LAB SPECTUR is speed made approachable.

First use = cracked plate

First run (10k ) when I got back the plate on the right shoe was cracked. I intended to use for an upcoming marathon. Very disappointing!

4 stars for now, might come back for 5!

The Salomon S/Lab Spectur running shoe is a fantastic choice for runners looking for a blend of comfort, performance, and innovation. Right out of the box, the fit is remarkably comfortable, hugging the foot snugly without feeling too tight or restrictive. One of the standout features of this shoe is the dual-layer foam construction, combining peba and EVA. Together, they deliver a balanced and cushioned ride, which feels incredibly smooth without being overly soft. The addition of a winged carbon fiber plate further enhances the experience, providing just the right amount of responsiveness and propulsion without feeling too aggressive. It’s perfect for long runs, as the shoe absorbs impact while still giving you that energetic push-off. Whether you’re tackling a tempo run or cruising through your daily miles, the S/Lab Spectur provides a stable, comfortable, and well-rounded ride that keeps your legs feeling fresh. Salomon has truly nailed the balance between cushion, support, and performance in this model.

Fantastic Running Shoe!

Really great shoe, is the epitome of walking on a cloud. Very stable platform, yet the base is comfortably soft. Also the enclosure material provides a very secure feel.

Stable and fast

I brought these to use for a race when the shoes I was planning to wear were not going to make it. They are a revelation! I've had many pairs of light race shoes before, but the Spectur is soft around the foot. For an ultralight shoe to be soft and comfortable is something I've never seen before. The carbon plate is excellent as well able to really boost running pace. The twin heels actually seem to help my running as well as I've always run slightly on my outside heel, the heel strike with these is so soft no doubt helping load the blade! The only issue I have is that these are definitely NOT for more than two or three runs a week, the carbon blade does not soften anything so if I use them everyday I get pain around the balls of my feet.

Like walking in the clouds

These shoes are insanely comfortable and light, I am so happy with my purchase. I wanted a nice and stylish comfortable white shoe that I could be in all-day, so I bought these and they were a WIN. I'm almost tempted to get a second pair for running, but I would probably just save them for when the first pair wore out. I'm also pretty sure they are made of clouds, so if you like happy feet, this is the shoe for you.

Fantastic!

I purchased these about a month ago and have been happy with them. As a person with medical needs for footwear these fit the bill. Stability and comfort are outstanding Will certainly buy these again.

Light and fast

Super light shoes with no Achilles discomfort, even at 8mm. Not snappy, but very fast and comfortable - no toe hot spots!
