Here's what customers have to say
The hiking boots are generally well-reviewed as comfortable, supportive, and durable. Many customers praise the excellent ankle support, traction, and waterproofing, with minimal break-in required. However, some have reported issues with the durability, such as the rubber components separating after short use. There have also been complaints about the waterproofing failing over time. While the boots work well for most customers, there are potential concerns about their long-term durability.

Tough shoe, lacking quality

This is my second pair, the first was about 10 years ago and I loved it. This one has less cushioning and has quality issues. Stitching in the back is coming undone after two wears

Great stability and traction
These are my “4 wheel drive” boots. I feel comfortable cruising down rocky creek bottoms or stepping onto boulders. Good traction on the rock and ankle protection.

Well Supported and Great Fit
This is an excellent shoe for hiking. It provides a lot of stability and ankle support. Moreover, it was great walking through mud and water, and it kept my feet dry. The only thing is that I wish it came in more colors.

My new Quest 4s
Longer break in than I remembered with last pair but once they fit they fit perfectly! Goretex works great new, let’s see how long it will last.

Very comfortable, but don’t hold up.
I have had two pairs of these boots since they are so comfortable and fit great. Unfortunately, I won’t be buying these boots anymore because they don’t hold up. My first pair lasted two years of regular hiking and were the best boots I’ve had. After my first pair fell apart I ordered a second pair. My second pair had significant damage and had to be glued back together after a one week backpacking trip. The boots are very comfortable, no blister, and no break in time. However I’d recommend them for light hikes, or if you just hike occasionally. If you’re going backpacking or are a frequent hiker, these boots will most likely break after 1 year. I now use other brands that last longer and cost the same. As comfortable as these boots are, I just can’t justify the price of these for a boot that will be destroyed in a year, vs another brand for the same price that will last 5 to 10 years.

Decline in fit and quality
The manufacture of the Quest has moved from Vietnam to Cambodia. The fit has changed, as had the quality. One of the sky hooks popped off after three walks. The fit of the boots has changed and the latest model cause me a persistent heal injury. I've been wearing Quest boots for many years. Not any more.

Blisters
Good quality, sturdy and durable, but the fit was awkward and gave me severe blisters on a 5 day hike, despite efforts beforehand to break it in. I have a long, narrow foot that didn't fit with the high ankle I guess. So make sure it is the right fit before wearing. I'll probably never use it again.

3rd Pair
My 3rd pair, good fit and comfortable. I like the open quick laces.

Good Boot
This is my second pair of these boots. They are well constructed and provide great support. My only issue is the waterproofness/resistance degrades within about one year of everyday use.
