Here's what customers have to say
The shoe provides a plush and responsive feel, suitable for long runs and recovery days. It offers good traction on various terrain, but some users have reported issues like squeaking, poor breathability, and premature wear on the lugs. Additionally, the wide sole profile has caused gait changes for some runners. Overall, it appears to be a solid max-cushioned trail shoe, but potential drawbacks should be considered.

Not typical Salomon quality
These shoes disappointed me. Not enough cushion and seem to not be the usual quality from Salomon.

Would be a great shoe if the tongue was sewn in..
Very comfortable, cushioned shoes. They are good to run in, even for long distances. The disadvantage is that the tongue is not sewn in. It always slips off and is very annoying. I don't even understand why they didn't sew it in. My previous running shoes all had sewn-in tongues. Unfortunately, this takes a lot away from the experience and usability. I consider it a serious design flaw.

Loads of cushioning, Love it
I have been running in another style of Salomon and kept saying I love them but want more cushioning. I have found those shoes.

Comfortable for long distances
Run lots of training and shorter runs in the Ultra Glide 2 and was looking for something with a little more cushion for the longer days. This shoe has treated me well - no real hot spots and very comfortable. Basically this shoe is a slightly slower Ultra Glide with more cushion.

Comfortable trainer for moderate trails
I love these trainers for easy training runs and trail walks. The shoe is stable and the toe box more spacious than usual Salomon shoes. Lots of cushioning .. both the midsole and with the upper as well. I have no issue with the traditional laces. Wouldn't use them on technical trails or races but they are not designed for those. Highly recommended as a training shoe for gravel and easy trails.

Great shoes
I bought this pair of Solomon shoes due to so many negative reviews on HOKA trail shoes based on their durability. The glide max tr are super light and I love the extra cushioning, the non gusseted tongue sucks but so far it hasn’t been an issue. Also I’ve got a lot of compliments on the appearance of the shoe. They’re holding up great and I’m very happy with them.

Not my favorite Salomon
I’ve bought Salmon hiking shoes for years because I have a high arch and a narrow foot. The Cross 5 and 6 fit me perfectly but I wanted a shoe to wear on the trail and street. These shoes are unlike any Solomon’s I’ve had, not near as supportive as other models and they have laces. The only way I’ve been able to wear these shoes is with inserts to stabilize my foot in the shoe.

Greater than the sum of its parts
This shoe is funny for me. I had the UltraGlide and loved it. This shoe is similar but and first feels less refined. There are some 'problems' (the tounge slips to the side, I can feel the edges of the insole on the bottom of my foot, the tounge and heel padding is chunky, and it runs a bit small). However, when I run in this shoe, not only do these disappear, I really like the shoe, better than the UltraGlide. Grip and comfort are great and it dissapears underfoot. I can only think that some genius at Salomon knew that all these oddities would add up to a great shoe. They do, but it still doesn't take away from my confusion.

Recommend
Bought these shoes not knowing what to expect after having a bad experience with peregrines. The cushioning turned out to be fantastic, I prefer the proper laces to the quick lace system as well so that was a plus, and the grip seems just right as well. Have done loads of training as well as a few ultras in these and they’ve performed just fine.

Best max cushioned trail running shoe
Very stable running platform with great tread and plush cushioning. Don’t hesitate to purchase this reliable shoe.
