Reverb XPLR AXS Dropper Seatpost gives wireless control and versatile drop for confident gravel rides
What Our Gearhead® Experts Are Saying:
"Reverb XPLR AXS was the upgrade that changed how I descend and ride rough gravel. Wireless actuation makes for a clean cockpit and lightning-fast setup, and being able to drop the saddle for technical sections adds real stability. It’s one of the best investments for adventure or race bikes."
Wireless speed meets gravel-readiness with the Reverb XPLR AXS Dropper Seatpost. The air-only internals deliver a solid top-out and built-in compliance for off-road comfort, while the simple AXS controls free up your cockpit. Travel options accommodate everything from subtle rollovers to big hits, and swapping the battery with other SRAM AXS parts is effortless. For anyone who wants smoother bike handling, more confidence on sketchy descents, and an easy install, the Reverb XPLR takes gravel to new ground.

Great addition to gravel bike. A little heavy and drop limited but Just what I needed for added safety and stability downhill.

extravagant expense for the right rider

I ride my gravel bike like a hard-tail mtn bike (with 50 mm Ravenger tiires), so I have been thinking about adding a dropper post for a while. It’s really nice to drop those 2 inches on a steep downhill. I like the Bluetooth AXS action so I don’t need to take my hands off the breaks. It is definitely a little heavy and the adjustment for the seat tilt is a little stupid (or maybe it’s user error), but it’s good once set up well.

Get your remote sorted first
- Familiarity:
- I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
These are great, they remove the fuss of internal cable routing and make for a very quick install and easy to fine tune seat post height, or replace with regular seat post if you want to lighten up for certain ride. The dropper function is great, fast and crisp down and return with the ability to fine tune at any set point in its travel. The big issue is if you have a drop bar bike and don't have the AXS front shifter, you are going to have issues finding the right remote. The MTB AXS remote won't fit on your drop bar and you'll need to purchase a wolf tooth shift mount for a 31.8 bar to use as an adapter. Summary - if you don't have the AXS front shifter to connect to the dropper for control, your budget is going to go way up after you buy the remote and adapter so think this through carefully. It may be worth just finding an AXS front shifter, but then you have to re-run your brake lines and bleed, which cancels out the advantage of not messing with internal dropper routing. Otherwise the post is great but spendy and the value will come in how high your disdain is for messing with internally routed droppers.
