Bulletproof and gamechanging
This backpack has been a gamechanger for me when I travel. Often, I find that I can condense what used to be a 2-bag trip to this single backpack. It feels like I can fit way more stuff in here than I have any right to, and the organization is thoughtful and easy to access. In over a year of heavy use, I've had zero issues, even when forced to check the bag on flights. My only complaint is it's a bit on the heavy side, but that's a small price to pay for the durability, features, and organization niceties. Would buy this again in a heartbeat, and it made me a peak design fan for the long haul.

Exceptional design, function and quality
Purchased for a 1-month trip to Europe to complement a medium-sized roller bag. Selection criteria were: 1. sophisticated looks without heavy branding, 2. maximum capacity within European air carrier carry-on dimensions, 3. ease of use atop a roller bag, 4. intelligent and flexible access and partitioning, and 5. quality construction and durability. Simply put, this is an excellent product. It sits securely on top of a roller bag, works well as a backpack when needed, looks sophisticated without drawing attention, is thoughtfully designed, and is well built. My bag shows no signs of wear after daily use for 30 days. The little things: — All grab handles are sturdy and comfortable. — The loop that secures the bag to a roller bag is strong and holds it firmly. — The system that stows and hides the backpack straps when not in use is innovative and works well. — Materials and zippers are excellent, each zipper with a sturdy, elegant pull. — The interior includes loops to secure items, reducing movement and making it harder for someone to slip a hand in and successfully grab valuables. Nicely done.

Travel pack
Bought this to replace the one my son barrowed and didn’t return, I used this on a 3 week trip in Europe and love the size and ease to travel with. Loved it as a backpack and the grab handles

Best Purchase I’ve Made In A Long Time
I’m in a band that tours heavily doing multi-week runs and 2-4 night runs and this has become my go-to travel bag. It’s really not an exaggeration to say you can pack over a week’s worth of clothing into this bag. All the compartments are well thought out and I can nicely organize tech, meds, clothing, etc. I can’t overstate how much I love this bag.

Sincere Review from Thailander 😁
🌎 Used & Tested for 2 Years When I first picked up the Peak Design Travel Backpack 45L, I was looking for a versatile bag that could handle everything from weekday office life to longer international trips. After using it for the past two years, I can confidently say: this bag exceeded my expectations and make me want to buy more products from Peak Design. First Impressions The design is sleek, minimal, and feels extremely premium. The black color looks professional enough for work daily life short trips and international travel. The design look smart and materials feel durable lightweight. What I Love: ✅ Expandable and versatile — It adapts from 30L for a daily carry to 45L for extended travel, thanks to its smart expansion zippers. ✅ Easy access — Multiple entry points (top, side, and rear) make it easy to grab what you need without unpacking everything. ✅ Super organized — Internal dividers, hidden pockets, and a brilliant layout keep clothes, tech gear, and documents neatly separated. ✅ Comfortable to carry — Padded shoulder straps and the hip belt (which neatly tucks away) make carrying heavy loads surprisingly comfortable. ✅ Durability — After rough flights, rainstorms, and bumpy rides, the bag still looks almost brand new. Minor Drawbacks: ❌ When fully expanded to 45L and fully packed, it can feel bulky — especially if you’re on crowded public transportation. ❌ Padded shoulder straps is fantastic but could use a bit more soft padded for ultra-heavy loads. Who This Bag is For: If you want one backpack that can work for daily — business trips, hiking weekends, or a month abroad — this is it. It’s perfect for minimalists, digital nomads, photographers, and anyone who appreciates functional design. Final Verdict: Peak Design absolutely nailed it with the Travel Backpack 45L. It’s not the cheapest backpack out there, but in terms of durability, smart minimalist design, and versatility, it’s a smart long-term investment.

Very high quality, comfortable enough
I bought this bag for traveling carry-on and really like it. Although the price is a bit daunting, the quality is unmatched. I am confident this bag will last. Also, you get a lifetime guarantee, so there's that in case something breaks. One thing to note: This bag is not a hiking backpack, and does not offer the same comfort. The straps are comfortable for me (188cm tall), the bag rests well on your hips, the ventilation is fine, but a hiking backpack specializes in this stuff. For medium hiking, this is absolutely fine, but don't expect this to be a hiking backpack.

My go to travel bag
This backpack is high quality and packed with amazing features. From the access points to the shoulder straps with additional options to help distribute the weight. I use this bag for long weekends and as a carry on for majority of my flights.

Love the look and design/features
Had a Cotopaxi travel backpack, but didn’t like hope bully it was. I returned it and got the PD travel backpack 45L. I love the way the straps tuck behind the back panel and disappear - so convenient when on an airplane. Also love how sleek it is when in the 30L mode. The zippers, pockets and layout all work perfectly. And to top it off, the pack looks so good. Highly recommend!!

Hefty, bulky, but spacious
I packed my Peak Design 45L backpack with 4 days of clothes and undergarments (which fit into my 1 Small and 1 Medium Peak Design travel compression cubes), a pair of sandals (fit into a Peak Design shoe bag), and a Peak Design wash pouch (the larger version). With this setup, there was room to spare in my compression cubes, but the Small and Medium cubes would fit pretty much the entire interior if instead jam-packed with clothes (for me, this amounts to about 8 sets of clothes and undergarments). I opted for 4 changes of clothes instead so I could also take the other bags (Wash Pouch and Shoe Pouch). As a 5'4" female, I found the 45L Travel Backpack pretty darn unwieldy. If sitting (e.g. on public transportation), the backpack on my lap comes up slightly past my chin, which is slightly uncomfortable. The backpack is also quite heavy with just the 4 sets of clothes and pouches I filled it with (note: with room to spare!). It took effort with momentum to swing it over my back every time, and was always SUCH a relief to put down. I love the many pockets and the considerable interior space. I also appreciate the strong zippers and thick construction, but it really is a significant trade-off with how excessively weighty the entire package is. I really want to thank the designers for including the thoughtful waist straps that hide back into the magnetic back cover. They really save my shoulders a ton of strain. I'm not as enthusiastic about using the top chest strap, since it appears that it'd pull at the thread and fabric by design. Overall, I do appreciate all the features of this backpack. I just wish it were lighter (on it's own) by a good amount.
