*Single* side cinch
Just arrived today. All in all I’m happy with my purchase. Only gripe thus far is that there is a single cinch at the bottom. It’s off on one side where you’d expect one *of a pair* to be. Just one. It cinches the hem well, on that one side. Just feels lopsided. Would be nice if the description was a little more clear about that

Replaced Well Loved NorthFace Apex
- Familiarity:
- I've used it several times
- Size Bought:
- L
I had a North Face apex jacket that I got about 10 years ago that was one of my favorite pieces. I could wear it at work or out on the weekend, with slacks or heavy cargo pants, dress shirts or tees. It just blended in, didn't call attention to itself, I put it on a felt presentable. It was made of this neoprene kind of material that never stained and blocked wind well, perfect for 3 season mornings or evening chills, and so much more durable and better then Patagonia or similar puffy jackets. The only downside was that it took up a little more space, I would drape it over my tool bag rather then stuff it in. I finally accepted that it was too small (it was a Size M and I think my gym habit has made my arms into a size L even if I'm any not taller) and too worn out and began my search for a new one. I would have gotten another north face but they had changed the material in the one's I saw in stores and I wasn't impressed. I almost got the Columbia version (great price) but I didn't need it at the time I saw it in stores and when I was actually pressed to finally purchase a new one it was not on the racks, also there was a sizing issue - the medium was on the tight size and the large had was much too roomy. I couldn't stand the giant logo on the Ariat version. I tried on the Lulu version, but the sizing was very off, I would have had to get an XL to have my chest and arms fit well without tugging at the fabric but the length was obviously ridiculous. I took a risk and ordered this sight unseen because it was on sale and I've liked the other items I've gotten from OR. I am pleased to report that it fits very well. The material is not quite as nice looking as the north face windfall neoprene stuff, it's more matte and has a little crinkle in it but it's much thinner and easier to pack. I have only gotten a few wears out of it but I spent an entire day in San Fransisco walking around in it and I was kept warm and shielded from the wind. I hope to get as much use out of it as I did the last one and would recommend it to anyone looking for an alternative to the Columbia or NF versions.

Great Soft Shell
I travel to Chicago for work and I bought this for a simple but warm soft shell. It’s great for chilly nights when my puffy jacket isn’t necessary. Fit and finish are great. I’m a 200lb lanky 6’4” guy and the large fits me PERFECTLY.
