Review Summary
Here's what customers have to say
The Outdoor Research SuperStrand LT Vest is a lightweight and packable insulating layer that provides warmth without bulk. It is praised for being very warm and efficient, while still being lightweight and easy to layer. Many reviewers find it to be a great mid-layer for cool weather activities. However, some note the vest has a loose fit and lacks features like a chest pocket or drawstring. The zipper quality has also been criticized by some users. Overall, the vest is seen as a versatile and high-quality piece of gear, though the fit and features may not work for everyone.

Love it. Super light. Super warm. Amazing OR quality. My go to vest right now.

Great quality and very warm. I use it as a mid-layer on subzero ski/snowboard days and as an outer layer casually. It’s my favorite puff.

Zipper sucks!
EDIT! Wore about 6 times. Zipper is horrible. Avoid. I wouldn't buy another.

Good Vest
The vest is lightweight and compact. I purchased it to use under a shell while hiking. It is a good addition for layering.

Warmth without bulk
This is a thin vest, however it's very warm. It fits pretty much true to size and fits an athletic build well. Packable this vest is versatile and can be used for technical and everyday use.

Perfect extra warmth piece to carry
Its honestly perfect for what I needed. Its very light, I think the color looks great with blacks and Navy's. The packing into its own pocket feature is handy so I always carry it with me and it does a significant difference in warmth

Great Vest; Runs Big
I do like this vest. It is lightweight but provides some warmth for cool days. It is also quite packable. The vest is not insulated enough for super cold days, but for me it works best in the 30's and 40's (F). The black looks nice and can even be worn as casual wear. I wish it had a drawstring on the bottom to cinch it tight around the waist to keep in the warmth. And a chest pocket would also be nice. However, overall it's a nice basic vest that feels well made. NOTE WELL: the sizing of this vest is off. I usually wear a large in Outdoor Research clothing (which I have much of!). However, this large fits like an extra-large. So I had to do an exchange to get a medium. It's not the end of the world, but it's slightly frustrating.

Free Your Arms, Be Brave and Don't Buy Gray
Excellent light vest for keeping it flashy when you need that extra warmth but don't want to sacrifice arm mobility. Added to my wardrobe for winter mixed climbing after a few years of feeling like Ralphie from Christmas Story, and sweet mother of god the difference in comfort is a game changer. I stay just as warm, but don't feel like I have a wad of underwear in my armpits. Great stuff. Sizing runs a bit large - I'm 6'3" 215lbs and XL is a wee bit baggy on me. Great for layering over thicker base layers, but a bit loose if you're headed into the office to turn heads. On a side note, I tend to be pretty conservative with color selection as a white hetero dude - all blues and grays. Tried to go out on a limb here, and the warm yellow tones on this jacket make me feel like a little ball of sunshine. Nice pallet, OR. Thanks for giving the bois an alternative to the norm.

Worked like a charm!
Super light weight and compresses easily to take up little room in your backpack. Surprisingly warm for the weight and thickness. It was my mid-layer for early mornings. I have zero negative comments to say. Would buy it again in a heart beat.
