Here's what customers have to say

This lightweight, packable jacket is generally well-received for its warmth and versatility in various outdoor activities. Many users find it comfortable and effective at blocking wind and light rain. However, some customers report issues with the fit, noting it feels too baggy or tight in certain areas. A few also express concerns about the jacket's durability and warmth, especially in colder temperatures. Overall, the jacket appears to be a useful outdoor layer, though the fit and warmth may not suit all users.

Added to my travel kit

I carried this jacket across Italy in the spring—using it on cool mornings, evening outings, and windy ferries. It disappeared into my pack when not needed and never added weight. There’s a kind of quality that reveals itself only when something performs perfectly without reminding you it’s there. This jacket has that. It’s earned a permanent place in my travel kit.

Great quality and very warm. I use it as a mid-layer on subzero ski/snowboard days and as an outer layer casually. It’s my favorite puff.

Not durable. Bad support.

As others have noted, the zipper is fickle. Mine broke almost immediately and support has been non-responsive for about 2 months now...

Not what OR was in the past?

Very disappointed in this jacket. Zipper is awful! tiny, requires glasses and many times to zip up...not gonna last!!

Great value

Park City, Utah can get pretty brutal in the winter. I have worn the OR SuperStrand LT hoodie while it was cold, windy and snowing. Though the jacket is lightweight, it kept the wind at bay and the snow out while staying warm on my early morning walks.

The jacket is extremely light and thin feeling. The jacket is not as warm as the 650 down jacket it replaced, but more than makes up for it in packability. I am having trouble with the zipper disengaging when trying to take it off, making me doubt the durability long term, but otherwise no complaints. If you are wearing this jacket to an event, like say a baseball game, I would not recommend this below 40 degrees.

SuperStrand LT

I am a big fan of this jacket. I love how light it is and how it packs down to such a small footprint. I use this jacket for early spring and fall hiking for quick day trips when I am going with a light setup. The jacket has held up to my rough treatment and I am very happy with my purchase. My only wish for the jacket would be for it to have a breast pocket for my cell phone, but I knew it didn't when I bought it. Great product!

warm and lightweight

For weight to warmth ratio this jacket is impressive. Nordic skiing at 10-15 degrees, this is a perfect base layer under a Gore-tex shell. It offers good breathability for heavy exercise. I am 6ft, 200 lb with an athletic build and the fit is pretty snug. It is too snug for an additional base layer underneath. Large/tall is my typical size. The sleeve length of the large is perfect but still probably should have ordered a size up. This jacket is a perfect lightweight layer for summer/fall backpacking. It is also light enough to wear under a down jacket for extra warmth in very cold conditions (0 to minus 20). Only 4 stars because I worry that the zipper is too light and may not hold up under extended use.
