Offchute Pant delivers softshell mobility with hardshell protection for the mountain
What Our Gearhead® Experts Are Saying:
"I reach for the Offchute Pant when I want something that moves like a softshell but still holds up to storm days. The Ventia fabric keeps me dry and breathes well, and the insulation in the seat and knees makes lift rides a lot more tolerable. The side pocket is a smart bonus for sidecountry laps."
Built for long days in the mountains, the Outdoor Research Offchute Pant blends softshell comfort with the storm-proof protection of a hardshell. Whether we're racking up inbounds laps or heading into the sidecountry, these pants move with us, shield us from the elements, and vent heat when we’re working hard. The Ventia 2L fabric is impressively flexible and breathable, while fully sealed seams lock out moisture when the flakes start to fall.
Reinforced scuff guards and a gusseted crotch add mountain-specific durability and mobility, and thoughtful touches—like zippered thigh vents and an tech pocket—make them a practical choice for resort or backcountry missions. Insulated panels at the seat and knees add just enough warmth without bulk, keeping us comfortable when the chair stops or the skintrack steepens. These are the pants we trust from first chair to final lap.

Pretty sweet pants
I used these pants along with merino wool long underwear underneath to go skiing at Crystal. Temperature was low 30s and upper 20's at the top. These pants worked out great. My legs would be a bit warm at the end of the run but would cool off well. I was never cold walking around the lodge or on the lifts. Only gripe is I wish the two front pockets were easier to get into since my jacket was typically covering the openings up so I ended up stashing all my stuff in my jackets. Overall these are really great pants, definitely would recommend them.

Fantastic Snow Pants
I cannot rave about these pants enough. I love the soft shell and high quality material. Much like a good pair of Lulu Lemon pants, you can move in these as they have a nice amount of stretch to them. My only complaint is that OR snow pants tend to run small in the waist. I have a 30 in waist (5 ft 8 in) and wear small in just about every brand of pant, but needed to up to a medium here, which fits nicely. BUY these, you will not be disappointed!

Best pant I've owned
These pants ROCK. They are lightweight, have well placed pockets and move with me easily. Previous ski pants I have owned have been too bulky, but these are just the right balance between too minimal and too bulky. They vents work well in the skin track (I tend to get hot...). The only thing I would change might be to have a full side zip, but I feel like the half-zip works for what I need. Love the fit and the pants!

Light weight and comfortable. Perfect shell to add over some warm base layers. Thigh pocket is great for accessing when on the chair lift.

My favoured ski touring resort skiing pants.
This is my favoured Skiing ski touring pants. It feels great on the skin and moves well over a long john. Lots of pockets in the perfect spot and deep pockets fro all of my toys. Simple and super good all I can say.
