Why We Like The Outdoor Research Hemispheres II Jacket
There's no need to sacrifice waterproofing for mobility and breathability with the Outdoor Research Hemispheres II Jacket. The GORE-TEX C-Knit 3-layer shell is lightweight and breathable while the GORE-TEX 2-layer panels with Stretch Technology add movement-mirroring stretch. Moreover, it's fully waterproof, so when we're skiing powder up to our chest we don't have to worry about moisture permeating into our layers.

Great PNW Jacket
I used this jacket a few times this previous season at Snoqualmie, Crystal, and Mt. Bachelor. It kept me completely dry even during some unexpected rain. Only "complaint" would be there isn't a ski pass pocket, but this jacket wasn't built for that. Excited to get to use it more next year.

One of the best jackets I've ever owned
This thing is bomber and there are not many products on the market that rival its quality and features. The Gore-Tex functions as expected; it's durable, weight efficient, and packs well. The pockets are in the right places and I like the additional breathability on the back when wearing a pack. This is a premium item that is well worth the price.

I purchased this for my husband. The yellow matches his vintage, yellow snowmobiles. The hem is long and gets in the way when he widens his stance, so he uses the two zippers to help get the hem out of his way. Truthfully, I expected the material to be a little thicker, so we'll see how long it lasts before he puts a gash into it.

Great high end jacket
Great Jacket. I prefer a jacket with a little room in the shoulders. This is perfect. Room for a medium weight down jacket.

Oui oui oui
Very good quality jacket! Use it under heavy rain and not wet at all.it’s by far the best jacket I own, for hike, touring or just a day in town, i got the black that’s make him universal. Im a tall 6pi and slim 140lbs women and i took the size small in men. The size is perfect the sleeves are long enough (which is very rare for me). I highly recommend this jacket. Got him from an warranty claim, OR have the best warranty products. So just positive comments on my side.

for the price I would have expected some better features
For the price of this jacket I would have expected a slightly thicker shell, and a few more features like thumb gaiters, and a powder skirt. Fit is a little intersting, based on reviews I went for the large, arms are longer while the waist is tighter combined with the length its a little odd. I am typically a large in everything I have plenty of OR jackets and am a large but I wish i went with an XL in this.

Size not accurate.
While I have worn many technical shells I like the quality of this one the most. However, the size is not accurate. It is entirely too long in the body and narrow. I could deal with a long shell if it was looser. This shell is long and tight meaning it binds around your thigh. I measured myself according to OR sizing guide and still am not satisfied after one snowboarding trip.

Impressed so far

I bought this as a general rain shell. The C-knit material has a nice feel to it and moves well with the body. My only concern is the water proofness of the stretch GT panels. The specs say it has the same water proof rating as the main shell, so we shall see. I've only been in light showers so far. I figure it's warranted by OR and GT. I love the two-way front zip and the side vent zips work well. Pleased with purchase.
