Best Jacket for light hikes in wet conditions
When I was hiking in the pnw this past week it was wet and humid and I was taking on and taking off layers all the time. This jacket was the only thing I kept on and I have had different jackets from many different brands over the years. This is by far the most comfortable

Nice jacket, mild protection
This Jacket looks great. Well-designed and great ventilation. It's comfortable, stylish. It's a n excellent jacket for a light rain but it is not waterproof in any sort of down pour, even after a hearty cleaning and DWR treatment it doesn't hold up to heavy rain at all. If you need a hiking or mountaineering jacket this aint it. But a commute, running to the car, walking the dog? yeah its good for that.

Even the replacement sent my way isn't waterproof
It's sad that I have to leave this review, but the jacket I received and the replacement sent my way aren't waterproof in any way. The material gets soaked as soon as water hits it. I have other items from OR that I love, but this, I can't recommend except as a windbreaker. The colour and the fit were great, but this is not what I wanted.

Great Rain Jacket
Awesome all around rain jacket, gore tex is bomber. Zippers are well made and pit zips are clutch for dumping heat. Light enough for backpacking but heavy enough for down pours. Love outdoor research jackets. Highly reccomend

Gore tex along with the oversized pit zips, Gold!
I've had my share of shell type jackets and the Gore Tex along with the length of the pit zips make this the ultimate shell making it a great year around jacket!

Not light, but extremely water resistant
Rain jacket does exactly what it supposed to do. Perfect as a durable outer shell on cold, wet days. Wore this snowshoeing in VT this winter and it performed well. GORE-TEX works well and keeps you dry, but can get pretty warm depending on the ambient temperature. Not recommended for use during summer thunderstorms, as it will keep you dry, but you will definitely be feeling the heat.

Perfect
Kept me dry in the Swiss Alps. Rain and snow. Even got a little warm so the vents come in handy.

Disappointing Waterproofing
I have owned two of these jackets now since Fall 2022. The reason I've had two, is the first one lost its water proofness (despite my best efforts to re-waterproof it using Nikwax). The replacement jacket that OR sent me has been actually even worse, I have had it for less than a year and it is already allowing water to seep through. I'm really disappointed in this product especially since it is advertised as being super waterproof and an award-winning jacket.

If I ever need another, I'd start here
- Familiarity:
- I've used it several times
- Size Bought:
- XXL
Extremely waterproof beyond anything else I've ever worn. The pit to hip two-way zippers create a lot of options for wearability and temperature control.

Great!
