Why We Like The Bugout Rocky Mountain Low Gaiter

If we had it our way, insects wouldn't exist. Okay, we know that would be bad for the environment, but they're really annoying. While we can't make that dream a reality, we can toss on the Bugout Rocky Mountain Low Gaiter. Its tough fabric wraps around our ankles to ensure those nagging insects don't bite us where we can't slap them. Of course, they do more than shield us from bugs: they stop dust and precipitation from creeping into our shoes, too.

Won't stay up

The top doesn't have any way to adjust!!.no pull strings, Velcro so they don't stay up. Wish I had seen the review before mine to know this.

They do the job but I found them sliding down my leg more than expected. I wish they had a Velcro strap at top to cinch tighter if needed. All in all I would still buy them. They've been a good product to keep rocks and brush from getting into my shoes.

These definitely help!

I am a tick magnet!! I've been wearing these hiking during tick season for a couple of years and they definitely help. I also like that they keep debris out of my boots.

Doesn't stay up

I bought two pairs, one for me and one for a friend, of these to wear on a fly-fishing trip to Bolivia, the attraction was the bug proof nature along with keeping river sand and gravel out of my boots while wet wading. Problem was they didn't work, the top wouldn't stay above my ankle, falling down below my boot top. The way the closure is designed it can't be tightened. Perhaps I needed a size small but I wear a size 10 shoe. Needless to say I was disappointed after liking OR's other full calf gaiters so much.
