Why We Like The Outdoor Research Alti II GORE-TEX Mitten

The Alti II GORE-TEX Mitten keeps our digits from having to experience the bitter cold of the elements that surround us, thanks to the synthetic insulation. Perfect mitts for skiing. Mitts are so much nicer than gloves, hands stay warm and completely dry with the Gore-Tex material.

No warmer gloves out there.

2nd pair of OR ski gloves. These gloves are for very cold weather skiing. In fact had to switch them out when the weather got above 35 degrees

Thick and stiff But yes warm.

Familiarity:
I've used it several times

These are very warm and were on sale. They do have nice removable liner. They really do not work well for skiing or anything where you might need to actually use your hands. I am a mitten person all the way, but these are going to be relegated to a sedentary sit in a chair activity I’m afraid. I tried them to see if they would soften up, but unlike leather, that’s a nope. So despite the sale, not worth it because I really can’t use them. My hands ached from having to work so hard to hold onto poles.

These gloves are amazing! This particular set was a gift for my wife, but I wear the same ones. First of all, they are the warmest gloves I’ve ever worn, and that includes Marmot, North Face, and Hester. The gauntlet is exceptionally long and easy to manipulate even with gloves on. The liner is super soft, easily removable, but also very secure in the glove, and you can slide a hand warmer in between the liner and the glove for added warmth if desired. Very waterproof! I like the contour that is built in, natural hand position. Fits pretty true to size, large box for the fingers but still able to hold and secure poles. Overall I would give the glove a 9/10, only thing I would change are the glove tenders, maybe add a slide clip to better secure them or a cuff to make them a little less “floppy”, but in all honesty no other glove comes close so that isn’t even really a mark down.

The warmest mitt EVER!

Heavy-duty outer mitt, warm removable liner combine to make this your go-to mitten. Whether its a bluebird day on the slopes or your are pushing for the summit, this is the mitt for you.

Finally, really warm hands!

My wife recently got the Alti Mitts, she gets cold hands skiing in the Northeast. We were out a couple of weeks ago and she was toasty warm skiing all day. Thanks for such a great product, we have wasted so much money on what companies have called their warmest, they failed us, you didn't.

Warm hands

The mitts keep my hands and fingers WARM, huge success to finally find a pair that works in the cold temperatures. They are long, go over my jacket sleeves and keep the snow from getting inside. The liners stay in place, attached by Velcro without any interference. I give the 4 star when I use them while skiing because of the inability to grip objects, like ski poles. I have used them four times so far and hope they soften a bit more with use. They are great for walks and hikes.

Toasty Hands!

These gloves are great - especially if your hands get cold easily! Great for the mountains and shoveling in a snowstorms! The hand grips are helpful too. Would highly recommend if your hands get cold really easily or you're in colder conditions.
