Adrenaline 20L Day Pack is built to move fast with all-day comfort and water resistance

What Our Gearhead® Experts Are Saying:

"This pack surprised me—lightweight but burly. I’ve used it for everything from trail runs to alpine scrambles. The daisy chains and padded top pocket make organizing gear easy, and it handles wet weather better than most packs its size."

When speed and simplicity matter, we load up the Outdoor Research Adrenaline 20L Day Pack. With just enough space for layers, fuel, and essentials, it’s our go-to for quick alpine pushes, fast-moving trail hikes, and grab-and-go days outside. Built with a durable mini ripstop nylon shell and coated to shed light moisture, this pack keeps our gear dry when we get caught in passing squalls.

From the breathable shoulder straps and ergonomic back panel to the intuitive pockets and hydration sleeve, the Adrenaline 20L feels dialed for high-output missions. Dual daisy chains expand our gear haul options—perfect for clipping a helmet or stuffing in a rain shell—and the padded top zip stashes our must-haves within reach. Whether it’s a summit sprint or a trail loop before lunch, this pack is ready to keep pace.

Very good, simple bag

This is a very good, very simple bag. It has a small outside pocket on the top and main compartment. I have used it for a few hikes and a few 20+ mile runs with a bladder inside (it does have a loop to keep the bladder upright). Good bag for the money.

Great day pack for experienced hikers

It's a great pack for a day trip. Though some of my hikes are long days, this can carry the essentials I need but is light and versatile. Two water bottle pouches on the outside are great. Can be combined with a Fanny pack or other items.

Good day pack

I've used this for mountain runs and sport climbing. It took me a while to discover the hose pass-through for the hydration bladder. The pack is mostly one giant space which has plusses and minuses. I wish it had another zippered pouch on the outside for snacks. I've kept them in the outer stretch pockets which works well enough I guess.

good quick trip minimalist pack

Good smaller pack for quick fast and light trips with minimal gear, wish the hip belt had just a little bit of padding , i probably should have bought the plus version as i'm 6'3'' and 208 lbs athletic build and the regular pack is tight on me even with the straps at max.

lightweight daypack perfect for climbing

I use it as a climbing gym bag. Just enough space for a harness and chalk pot in the main compartment. Small items like keys wallet and vape in the top compartment. The dual tumbler holders on the sides are expandable and can hold a camelbak 32oz chute mag bottle with ease. The material is thin and light yet feels durable enough to be thrashed around. It can flatten just enough to be squeezed into a folded-up crash pad with no problems. Only knock is the waist strap could use some padding otherwise it's an awesome just-right sized pack

Good pack

Good light weight pack, another review said there's no passage for the water bladder hose but it actually comes out on the shoulder straps, wish the hip straps had just a little bit of padding, also it's seems a little tight fitting for someone 6'3 208 lbs

Really really solid but why no passage for a bladder hose?

This is a very solid backpack but a little disappointed it doesn't have a passage for the bladder hose to extend out of the pack. I'll accept it's my fault for not making sure it did before ordering but honestly didn't consider the pack would have a bladder hook/sleeve but no passage way for the hose.

Excellent Waterproof Day Pack!

Solid and well built pack that is very waterproof, which is the main thing I wanted from it. Quality zippers and overall construction that feels like it will last. Only gripe is with the interior pocket, which is a little tight, and feels a bit less functional than the rest of the pack. It will be used as my daily pack for bringing my things to work in the PNW, and I expect to get many years out of it!

functional day pack

Nothing groundbreaking but nice construction, incredibly light, and has some nice features. It has a rigid backplate to keep things from poking your back and to provide stability. Waist and chest straps which are nice. It also has two bottle pouches on the side. Works good as a simple day back I just wish it had more pocket options internally and externally
