Awesome Day Pack

Familiarity:
I've used it several times

Pretty good for carrying stuff for an all-day hike. My REI camp chair fits inside! Which is good, because it can't strap to the bottom. The hip belt pockets could be a little more forward, and I sometimes wish both had a zipper, but I can see the benefit of the mesh open pocket as well. I switched from the "extended" version for bigger hikers, as I am no longer as big as I used to be.

Really happy so far with

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Really happy so far with this pack, it's a great day-hike size with good external pocket that fits my nalgene and internal hydration option if you want it. Very comfortable to wear, and I got the small size so my 11yr old could also use it. He loves it. Looks well built and though I've only used it once so far expect it to last well.

All I Needed for Angel’s Landing

Familiarity:
I've put it through the wringer
Size Bought:
S/M
Height:
5' 7"
Weight:
135

I used the Sportlite 25 to hike all around Zion, including Angel's Landing, and it was a perfect fit for long days on the trail. It carried everything I needed: layers, snacks, water, sunscreen, all without feeling bulky or overbuilt. The pack sits close to your back and is super stable, which I appreciated when scrambling the chains section. The shoulder straps and back panel are breathable enough for the hot Utah sun, and I liked how the main compartment is simple and uncluttered. There’s just enough organization without a bunch of extra stuff you don’t need. I could fit my 16 oz Nalgene in the side pocket and was able to squeeze my iPhone 13 in the hipbelt pocket, although this pocket is better-suited for sunglasses and other smaller items. The backpack also handled my 3L reservoir no problem. I wouldn’t call it ultra-padded, but it was comfortable for the whole hike and didn’t shift around or dig in. Lightweight, low-profile, and well-made - exactly what you want for a big day hikes.

Open Hip Belt Pocket a Dealbreaker

I would have bought this pack ages ago but for the fact that it only has one zippered hip belt pocket. The open hip belt pocket is a dealbreaker, and I hope that Osprey corrects this in future versions of the bag because it otherwise seems pretty perfect for what I'm looking for.

Absolutely love it! Some of

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Absolutely love it! Some of the best features; It has very stretchy outer water bottle holders so you can fit Nalgene's in them. The outer stuff sack is convenient for large jackets or bulky items. The hydration pack spot is not in the main part of the back, it is in a separate pocket so it would be easier to tell if it leaks and you can fit more things in the main body of the bag.

Love the pockets and fit

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Love the pockets and fit is perfect for my daughter's small frame. She was specifically looking for a backpack with multiple compartments but one that still had hip support. This one checked all her boxes.

great suspension for a smaller pack

We own many Osprey packs. I bought this from their mailed catalog for the unusual features: great suspension on a small lightweight pack, compression straps that flatten it out, plenty of pockets for organization, waist pockets that are held out by slight stiffeners so I can get to them even when the waistbelt is unfastened. I find it hard to load the main bag because it neither opens wide like a top-loader nor broadly like a panel-loader. This is a problem with some other smaller Osprey packs, such as the Talon. It actually has only a left-side zippered waist pocket; the right side is a shallow elastic mesh pouch, maybe for a food bar. I really wanted two big waist pockets; I like to use them instead of pants pockets. I think I'd like some big strap pockets, too.

comfortable,well-designed,3-season daypack

I have used this daypack for a full summer now and I have only good things to say. It is so well thought out and perfect for what I like to do, which is climb non-assist peaks (3.1 or lower) But it is also my go anywhere pack. The padding on the shoulder and hip belt is minimal, which is just what you want when carrying a light load- it flexes and fits smoothly with no pressure points. It's actually more comfortable than having over-padding. Though lightweight it's a functional hip-belt. And the un-stayed back panel is just stiff enough to transfer the weight . The Packs length, width, and depth is long, skinny, and shallow, which is just what you want when scrambling off trail. It has properly placed load compression straps in addition to load adjusters for the shoulder straps. It fits close to the back and is VERY comfortable. Also the mesh pockets or overly large for this size pack which works great for me because I carry water bottles- but it's also hydration compatable. I'm totally into fit and comfort and no-nonsense functional design. It is very lightweight material and zips, so some may think it a little too flimsy. But I like it alot, and will probably never carry more than 6 or 8 lbs. I'm 5'11 with a 19 1/2"" torso and the M/L fits perfect. And just to say the picture above really doesn't look to me like it's adjusted properly and doesn't do the pack justice. I can find no reason not to give this little pack 5 stars.
