Why We Like Osprey Hikelite 18L Backpack

With its minimalist design and well-ventilated back panel, it's a lightweight choice for hikers, travelers, and everyday commuters.

I have used my new

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have used my new hike and I’m thrilled with it. The slight increase in capacity from my previous hike is useful. The frame which has been tradition to Osprey works well for me in the heat.

Great pack but the sternum

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Great pack but the sternum strap is still a questionable design and will likely eventually fail.

Great for air circulation! Frame

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Great for air circulation! Frame distributes weight to hips rather than all the weight on shoulders. would like to have more small compartments in main storage area its a five star other than that

Great Day Pack

Familiarity:
I've put it through the wringer

You can wear this all day and never know its there. Very high quality. The bottle pockets need to be a bit deeper, though. I pack it in my luggage for day trips abroad.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I didn’t realize that the water reservoir didn’t come with it, which was a bit disappointing, but other than that it’s great! I recommend it

I haven't had the opportunity

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I haven't had the opportunity to take it out on a hike yet. That said, I love how it fits, how light it is and the frame structure, which I'm sure will make it more comfortable and breath better when hiking on hot days. I'll be taking it on a 2 day hike in Joshua Tree National Park in about 6 weeks.

The best backpack I have ever owned

The Hikelite 18 is incredible for travel, day hikes, daily commuting via bike, and more. It fits under an airplane seat, has hydration bladder capability for day hikes, includes a chest and waist strap to secure the bag to you when biking, and it is the perfect size. I cannot recommend this pack enough.

Mine has a loop handle..... I put large S-biner to hang Hikelite on thick stall doors

Someone wrote that the Hikelite is lacking a handle loop. IDK, mine has one. As I do with all my backpacks, I put a large S-biner on it, so I can hang it, it even hooks over 40 cm thick stall doors so I don't have to set my pack down. I also riveted thick vinyl sheeting on bottom so that it can be set down on icky bathrooms or muddy ground..... Osprey take note! Bottom of packs should have waterproof vinyl sheet!

Great for travel and business mix!!!

The Hikelite 18 is perfect for me, no downsides! Fits my Apple M2 16" (someone wrote it doesn't fit their 14" laptop) with no need for sleeve as it is protected by the wire frame.... plus small photography drone + controller + 3 batteries in a Solo rectangular gear pack (looks like softside lunch box), Hikelite is great for day-trekking photo shoots. The whole Hikelite 18 then drops perfectly into an Eddie Bauer 22" rolling half-hardshell duffel for all-in-one travel (dusty busrides on dirt roads). Before boarding aircraft I take out the Hikelite to easily fit underseat (and use laptop), while the now-shrunken duffel can fit in limited overhead bin space.
