What Our Gearhead® Experts Are Saying:

"I’ve used the Koda 2 on weekend cookouts, and it never fails to blow people away. It gets blistering hot fast—like ready-in-20-minutes hot—and the control over each burner is a game-changer. Being able to cook Neapolitan, Detroit, and even sear steaks on a baking steel has turned this into a year-round backyard essential."

Pizza night just got a serious upgrade. With the Ooni Koda 2 Gas Powered Pizza Oven, we can crank out restaurant-quality pies from the comfort of our backyard or basecamp. Ooni’s clever dual-zone control means we’re not just making pizza—we're making pizza our way, with the perfect balance of top and bottom heat for crispy crusts, gooey cheese, and that signature leopard spotting that tastes like Italy.

Powered by gas and ready to cook in just 20 minutes, the Koda 2 delivers 950°F performance with a simple twist of the dial. Whether we’re baking artisan-style Neapolitan, thick-crusted Detroit, or tossing on a cast-iron pan for steaks or roasted veg, this oven keeps up with any creative spark. The 14-inch cooking surface means there’s room to experiment—or just make enough for everyone in one go.

Here's what customers have to say

The gas-powered outdoor oven heats up quickly to high temperatures, allowing it to cook pizzas in 60-90 seconds and produce a crispy crust with evenly cooked toppings. Many users praise its ease of use, though some note a learning curve to get the timing and technique right. While a few customers had issues with uneven cooking or struggled to replicate certain pizza styles, the majority were very satisfied with the oven's ability to make delicious homemade pizzas.

My Koda 2

This is my fourth pizza oven and 2nd Ooni. My first Ooni was a Koda 16. This new oven is by far better than anything I have ever used before. The variation of temperature on the stone is low enough to get good consistent results on my pizza bakes. The ability to control the overall temperature is allowing me to do things I haven’t been able to do before. I recently added the temperature gauge which helps me determine when the temperature is stable. I find this very useful. All and all I think it is a great oven.

Worst Pizza Oven i have used

I am a profesional chef and have purchased 2 Karu 16 that i love. I was extremely disappointed with the performance of the Koda 2. After following recomended preheat times the dough would not be close to cooked and the pizza would catch fire in the back. this was continuing to happen when the oven was on low. It was a terrible experience. I have a catering company in Aspen and was hoping for more portability wit this oven. It was a major disappointment.

Super hot and not as versatile as volt 12

I love my electric ooni in Florida at my condo can't have fire. It is very flexible except for napalatono pizza. My new propane koda 2 does those pizzas great but is hard to throttle down for a Detroit or NY

Not good for New York style pizza

I had high hopes for this pizza oven. My family and I love NY style pizza and have always been passionate about it. After years of building up the courage to purchase a home pizza oven, I wish I hadn’t. This oven performs poorly at making New York style pizza to make a long story short. In depth this oven struggles to cook the bottom of the pizza evenly to give it a crunch. I am unsure if the stone is too thin or the burners just do not go low enough. If you preheat this to the highest possible setting and place the pizza and immediately turn it all the way down it will still burn the top prior to cooking the bottom to a crunch. Unfortunately I have already used this oven multiple times trying everything I can to make the perfect pizza so I no longer feel comfortable returning it and am stuck with it. I even tried using dough purchased from a pizza restaurant so I know this was not the problem. I have spent multiple years as a pizzaiolo in a pizza shop with great reviews and exceptional pizza. This particular pizza oven for NY style is outperformed by a low quality pizza stone in a cheap home oven. Overall I am saddened and disappointed.

Superb product easily put into service

The assembly was quite easy. Initial burn off went well and then I was ready to test a pizza Tha ts where reality hit me. Pizza one had too much sauce, second too much semolina which burned. Cleaned up the mess and tried pizza 2. This one went better and was quite good. So in summary it’s an excellent product, high quality and operates as it said it will. The secret is the training me to make a better product. I’m learning and pizza 3 was actually pretty good. I am getting the hang of this and am very happy I purchased this unit

Easy, delicious and fun for the whole family

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I’ve had the Ooni Koda 2 for about 2 months now and it’s been a lot of fun for the family. It was mostly all setup already. Really just open the legs, install the pizza stone, connect to propane, and check for leaks. Have to do a 30 minute seasoning which just consists of turning it on max, heat for 30 minutes, let it cool, wipe off any debris, and it’s ready for use. After that turn it back on and within 15 minutes, it was up to cooking temp and I was making pizzas.  The heat is consistent, and the temperature control features make it easy to adjust. Pizzas come out with crispy crusts and evenly cooked toppings in about 60–90 seconds after getting the hang of turning it quickly. Cleaning is really easy.  just let it cool and wipe down any crumbs or residue. It’s lightweight enough to move around when needed and small enough to store wherever need be. For me I throw it in the cover off the website and put it in the shed since it’s used randomly. It’s been exciting for the family to have something new to do with dinner and make delicious pizza at the same time. Looking forward to the next Pie.

Great pizza oven

We have enjoyed using our pizza oven since we received it. It really makes a great pizza and fast - 90 seconds for a 14”. There is a learning curve with trail and error but once you get the hang of it, this pizza so resembles the type we would get while in Italy.

Really Great Pizza!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I really love this oven! I’ve been waiting to get one forever. It really is easy to use. Heat it up and slide a pizza on. There is a little bit of a learning curve, you need to turn your pizzas fast so they don’t burn. I would recommend a pizza peel turner and a pizza peel. I have been using a pair of long tongs to turn my pizza but a turner would be better.

We need more practice!

I am not really sure what to think right off the bat. We cooked 12 pies the first time we used the Koda 2. Most were very good, one burned badly and one was perfect. The next day we did 8 and all were ok. Didn't ruin any, but could not find that perfect spot/temp combo. Our Koda 2 seems to have a horrible hot spot in the back left as you are looking at the oven. Burnt almost every pie in that same area. I am guessing I just need more practice to figure out how to work around that hot spot. It looks great cooks meh(so far), and it perfectly portable, if you have some muscle. For the money I still prefer our 450 degree oven at home. For pies on the deck at the lake with friends, I couldn't ask for more!
