Kept me dry in cold Alaska rain!
I wore these for the first time in Alaska during an outdoor adventure in a very cold rainstorm. I was completely dry under these pants. They fit great, comfortable and easy to move around. Highly recommended!

Very practical and worth having
These splash pants are true to size but also generous with a high waist and length in the leg which allows me to put them on over my regular shorts. They are a little warming on a somewhat cold day but I've also had to wear them on a hot day to protect from biting flies on the lake. On the hot day they felt breathable and comfortable but it isn't like you'd go hiking in them. The pocket on the thigh is well placed and large with a zipper so at times I've put my phone or eye glasses there while getting set up in the canoe or kayak. I also got a top of the same style but I've ended up using the pants even more often for days when it is cool enough that I want to make sure my shorts stay dry and not get wet from the chair of kayak or random water coming off the paddle or my shoes.

backcountry.com cancelled my order and wouldn’t honor their online pricing because of an internal mistake. I can’t review this item because I never got it. I can review backcountry.com and say they’re a terrible company who treats its employees and customers like garbage. Ethically one should never shop at this garbage fire of a company. Here’s to backcountry.com’s unavoidable demise. May CSC Generation Enterprise pump and dump it into oblivion ASAP.

Great pants, single caveat
I bought these a few weeks ago as I needed rainpants for a multipart trip. I've had "traditional" rain pants, which I really disliked (and therefore never wore, preferring to be wet) bc of the plastic feel and discomfort during activity. These NRS Splash Pants seemed different when I tried them on, they seemed breathable. I wore them while deep sea fishing in Norway. They kept me dry, didn't restrict active movement in any way, and I didn't feel sweaty or uncomfortable. The neoprene waist w velcro tabs was very comfortable. There is a zippered pocket in the anterior right thigh which fit my phone easily, with room to spare. The sole caveat I have is that as there are no zippers at the ankles/ legs, it was not possible to don or doff them with hiking boots on, but that's the sole "complaint," a worthy trade off for how comfortable they are. Size wise, I am between a small and a medium, I chose a medium. Highly recommend!!!

Quality but sized for med/thin figures
- Familiarity:
- I've used it several times

- XL
I purchased these for my wife (5’6”, 185 lbs w/ booty & hips & smaller waist). These are not made for curvy girls. Had to re-order XXL to fit booty & thighs, but now waist is huge and the length is clownish. We ran out of time to hunt down other options before our kayak camping trip thru 100 Wild Islands, so kept the larger size. They held up well and she was dry and warm with her wool base layer leggings underneath. I’m thinking of starting a paddle clothing line for women. I’m tall and leggy but most women aren’t. While I felt these were true to size, that comes with the caveat that one is medium to tall and trim fitness-wise. We need options!

Ditch your traditional rain gear ladies.
I commercial fish and as a woman wearing traditional rain gear is a hassle. I have put 9 active days on this pair and they have come through with flying colors. I wear Huk ankle boots and the cuff closures on the pants snug up nicely to keep water out. I also keep dry even with water continuously slopping over the sides of our live fish totes (we fish a live fish fishery off Oregon). They are quick to dry on the outside and most days I just rinse the exterior of the saltwater and fish slime. I have popped them into a coldwater wash twice and hung them overnight to dry. The number one reason I wanted to try them was it makes taking my "union break" a whole lot easier. These splash pants get two thumbs up from a woman whose spent decades on the ocean!
