Smart / protective / light bag

It’s not the cheapest but among the best designs. Key is that the top can be rolled to just the right ski length, with the handle always ending up in the right place as it’s the thing securing the rolled part. If the bag is too long for the skis, it sags at the top and a pain to roll around. That’s the issue with (the otherwise great/durable/inexpensive) Dakine rollers. This one is also among the lightest for the capacity and smallest rolls up. It also has handle buckles to keep ski down and against the sides when putting two pairs in. Smart. The dB version (almost as expensive) rolls back similarly but is 2kg heavier (almost 2x) and much larger rolled up. Weight is a problem as you have that much less gear you can pack and that much to roll around always. 2kg is > one ski or one ski boot, for reference. dB does have an “ultra light” version that is the same weight as this one but it over $1000. If you are traveling with skis a few times/season, this one’s solid. dB is a skip, Dakine is the value if you get the right length, we used one for good 15 years before the zippers came apart. Zippers on this one are top notch btw. Solidly made throughout, as expected from Norrona.
