Why We Like The NEMO Tensor Extreme Conditions Sleeping Pad
When days are clear and cold, and the nighttime temperatures drop well below freezing, we want the NEMO Tensor Extreme Conditions Sleeping Pad between us and the ground. This pad offers incredible warmth thanks to four layers of floating Thermal Mirror metallic film, which reflects heat back toward our body for an impressive 8.5 R-Value. Clocking in at just over a pound, ultralight enthusiasts won't have to make tough decisions between comfort and weight on winter expeditions. Amazing Comfort
I bought this Nemo Tensor Extreme for my attempt at thru-hiking the PCT. I love it and I slept like a baby….. this product is quiet, it’s durable, it’s light, and it’s so worth it!

Good sleeping pad
I recently used this pad on a 3 day backpacking trip in the Sierras. I felt fairly comfortable on this pad, with the switchback pad underneath as well. It seems durable and not very noisey.

Quiet and superb
The quality in this is outstanding. Doesn’t make much noise and is very comfortable. I got the wide version, which I think is necessary for me when backpacking. Have yet to take it out and test it during colder temps, but looking forward to it!

Questionable Reliability for Remote Use
My wife and I have been using Thermarest and Exped mats for the past 20 years and decided to improve our sleeping systems for cold conditions and comfort (size and thickness). Our research suggested to go with the Tensor Extreme Conditions (regular wide) and we both purchased one last year. We have used our mats at least 20 time since then. The mats are comfortable and warm as advertised but after the second night one of our mats suffered a puncture and the same mat had and additional 2 holes since then. Considering the cost, I expected greater reliability, in particular for remote adventures. I don't think I would purchase again.

Excellent Warmth & Packability
The Nemo Tensor Extreme Ultralight provides outstanding warmth (R-value 8.5) and is surprisingly comfortable at 3.5 inches thick. Inflation is quick and easy using the excellent included Vortex pump sack. Despite its high insulation, it's impressively lightweight. Best of all, it packs down to an awesome, minimal size in your backpack. For reliable cold-weather performance without the bulk, this pad is fantastic.

Impressed!
I have used a Thermarest Neoair XTherm for 8 years now. It has kept me warm and very durable. My only complaint is that it is only 2.5 inches thick. I heard from other people that they love their Nemo Tensor and how thick it is. I am a cold sleeper, so I thought I would give the Tensor Extreme a try. Especially since it is a lot thicker and as I have been told by others, not so noisy as the Thermarest. Well….what do you know, they are right! Very warm and quiet compared to my Thermarest XTherm. I am very happy and very comfortable.

Is the tensor alpine ultralight the same pad as the longbow alpine offered at First Lite? Other than the color they appear to be the same.

I'm about 5'10. Should I go for the long version? It looks like I'll fit the regular mummy, but it may be a bit close.

I usually camp during winter without a tent. Is the material tough enough to withstand sleeping with fir branches on the ground or should I put the mat on the snow directly?

Does the outer fabric keep you from sliding if you are tented on a slight incline?

Are there any plans to make mummy shaped versions of the pads in the Tensor lineup (both Alpine and/or Tensor Insulated)? Without the mummy shape, I can't nest 2 pads in my tent.

I was wondering if you will change anything on the Design or the Material? The little Store here in Germany told me that the mat is sold out for the year and that he can order agian in December.

Hi! Is Nemo expecting to make a Wide/Regular in this sleeping pad soon? I want the wide one, but it's too long for my tent!
