Great quality, but small, some flaws
The quality of the 2 day pack is excellent as expected, but it’s small and doesn’t hold as much as I was expecting. I received it right before I was leaving on a trip, so unfortunately I didn’t have time to return or swap it for a larger pack. If anything is placed in the inside pockets, ie bush, small makeup bag, sandals etc, essentially you have almost no room for a set of clothes and shoes. I would call this an over night bag at best. I do like the two zippered pockets on top to store my travel docs. After storing it under the seat on a plane, the grab handle on the top is offset at the back making it difficult to use to pick up as compared to one that is more at the top center of a bag. It is a high quality bag, just not what I needed it for. I’ll have to find another bag for my travel purposes.

Mystery Ranch does it again
Mystery Ranch does it again. This pack continues to meet the rigorous standards that MR has created. I'm a big fan of how the waist strap is removable so when I'm moving through a more urban environment it isn't hanging and looking sloppy. However as soon as I hit the trails I am able to secure the waist strap and gain the necessary leverage needed for longer hikes. I'm curious and adding a waist strap that has a little more padding to it as well to see how that goes. Overall, if you're looking for a pack that you can take to the office and the airport but also want something that can support day trips out on the trail, this is your bag.

Awesome pack awesome customer service
Not only is this pack my favorite assault/day pack but while I was deployed it sustained some damage and mystery ranch took care of it. This company takes care of you even after the purchase. Thanks for everything.

Perfect
This is the pack I've been waiting for. Great pocket layout. Great meterial, and craftsmanship. I love the side entry for my laptop. And the size is perfect for yo 6'2" 220 lbs frame. I edc it with all the gear I need weighing about 20 lbs. I've finally stopped buying packs

Great features!
This pack is my everyday carry and has been burly enough for travel. There are pockets and storage all over this thing! The Rip-Zip design allows me to grab the lid of the pack where all three zippers meet and open the top in one swift motion. When opened all the way, cleaning after a trip is a breeze. I especially like the double padded pockets inside that protect both my laptop and e-reader (kindle) separately. The interior mesh pockets make it easy to see my packed gear at a glance. The bungees on the sternum strap are easy to deploy with the pull tabs and have been the perfect loops to stash my sunglasses or hydration tube that I use frequently. This was my first Mystery Ranch pack, and I’m obsessed!

The Perfect EDC Pack for a Creative on the go!
I've been eyeing the Mystery Ranch 2-Day Assault Pack for years—seeing it pop up in Carryology groups, reading reviews, and straight-up salivating over the design, durability, and legendary harness system. Well, I finally pulled the trigger, and let me tell you… it does not disappoint. As a creative professional, I need a pack that can handle everything—my Fuji X100VI EDC camera, 16" MacBook Pro, iPad Pro, notebooks, cables, chargers, and all the other tools of my trade. This bag swallows it all with room to spare while keeping everything organized and accessible. The tri-zip design is an absolute game-changer, making it easy to grab gear on the go without digging through layers of stuff. Comfort? Unreal. The adjustable yoke and padded straps make this bag feel weightless, even when fully loaded. And let’s talk build quality—Mystery Ranch doesn’t mess around. The 500D Cordura, reinforced stitching, and bombproof YKK zippers make it feel like this bag could survive the apocalypse. I added Maxpedition zipper pulls and makes the zippers open even easier. Next step I added a couple of 511 Molle pouches for extra quick storage. I love the modularity of the bag! I’ve had a lot of packs over the years, but this one? It’s officially my go-to. Whether I’m heading to a shoot, setting up at a coffee shop, or traveling for a project, the Mystery Ranch 2-Day Assault Pack is the ultimate blend of tactical toughness and creative utility. If you’ve been on the fence about getting one—just do it. You won’t regret it.

Do you have a question about this product?

How much lighter is the Hummus color than Coyote? The pictures make it look very bright in comparison. I'm looking for a pack in this size with these features for military use but I dont see a 2-DAP with the tablet/device sleeve in your .mil section

Do you have accessories to expand the 2DAP's storage? Preferably in black or oterwise Foliage. Maybe I'm just blind... Thanks!

Will the 2-day assault backpack work for a 2-day camping trip in colder weather, or would you recommend looking at the 3-day instead?
