Reactor 1.7L Pot balances volume and efficiency for alpine duos and snow melts
What Our Gearhead® Experts Are Saying:
"I bring the Reactor 1.7L Pot when I’m heading out with a partner or need to melt snow. It’s fast, reliable, and the heat exchanger handles wind like a champ. Plus, it fits the stove and a medium canister inside—so it’s tidy in my pack."
When the day’s adventure demands fast fuel-up time for two, the MSR Reactor 1.7L Pot is the workhorse we trust to get the job done. Whether you're boiling up breakfast on a high-alpine ledge or melting snow during a winter traverse, this pot is built for speed, efficiency, and backcountry toughness. Its hard-anodized aluminum construction features MSR’s signature full-wrap heat exchanger, enclosing the Reactor Stove’s radiant burner to create one of the most wind-resistant systems available.
It hits the sweet spot for group trips and solo excursions where a little extra water capacity goes a long way. The 1.7L volume makes it ideal for two-person meals or snow melting in cold environments. With an integrated BPA-free strainer lid, folding/locking handle, and the ability to nest both the Reactor Stove and a medium fuel canister, this is the kind of efficient design that seasoned adventurers reach for when conditions turn fast and frigid.

I own the 1 liter
I own the 1 liter and 2 liter pots. They are lightweight and fit a small or large fuel canister inside with the stove (based on what pot I take). The lid has held up well being tossed in my pack. The only issue I have had is that the handle sometimes comes off when opening it, but it can be easily reattached.
