What Our Gearhead® Experts Are Saying:

"This is my go-to layer for long days under the sun. The Sunshield 1/2-Zip Top provides serious sun protection while staying breathable and comfortable. The HeiQ Mint odor control keeps things fresh, and the half-zip lets me dump heat when needed. Whether I'm hiking, climbing, or just enjoying a warm day outside, this top keeps me covered without overheating."

When the sun is blazing but adventure calls, the Sunshield 1/2-Zip Top has us covered—literally. Designed for high-energy pursuits, this lightweight pullover features UPF 50+ sun protection and HeiQ Mint odor control, so we can stay fresh and comfortable on even the hottest days. The stretchy, moisture-wicking fabric moves with us, making it a staple for long hikes, climbs, and treks where shade is scarce.

The half-zip front lets us regulate airflow on the go, while raglan sleeves enhance mobility for unrestricted movement. A secure zip pocket at the back keeps small essentials close at hand, and the packable design makes it easy to stash when conditions change. Whether we're chasing summits or exploring sun-drenched trails, the Sunshield 1/2-Zip is our first line of defense against the elements.

Has some plus and minuses but part of the quiver now

+ Color is super pretty + material is really lightweight, good for long days in the sun and stretchy enough for climbing. +/- For me the length is good, hits in a flattering spot above my hip bones, unless I'm wearing a harness or even with backpack or bouldering pads strapped around my waist, in which it becomes kinda annoying because it's a bit short and rides up, and gets all bunchy. It was more annoying with the harness while trad multipitching, because it was kinda billowy and bunchy right by the gear loops and would mess with my trad rack. - the seam lines on the arms are kinda weird and a little uncomfortable/scratchy. i wish it felt smoother on the inside. It also runs down the middle of the inside arm, rather than on the outside arm edge. Anyway YMMV, but I'll continue to wear this for bouldering or cragging days but not multipitch days

Perfect layer

This has been perfect for cool morning trail runs. It isn't tight or clingy and is easy to take off and wrap around my waist when it starts to warm up.
