What Our Gearhead® Experts Are Saying:

“This hip pack is the perfect size for carrying the essentials—phone, keys, wallet, and a snack—whether I’m hitting the trail or exploring the city. The CORDURA® fabric is super durable, and the padded back panel makes it comfortable to wear all day. I also love that I can wear it around my waist or sling it crossbody for a more casual look.”

Whether we’re heading out for a day on the trails or a night in the city, the Mountain Hardwear Field Day Hip Pack keeps our essentials close and accessible. Built with rugged yet lightweight CORDURA® ripstop fabric, this pack is tough enough for outdoor adventures while stylish and versatile enough for everyday wear.

A two-way zippered main compartment makes it easy to grab what we need on the go, while an internal zippered pocket keeps smaller items secure. The padded back panel ensures all-day comfort, and the adjustable hipbelt lets us wear it around the waist or crossbody for a customized fit. From hiking trails to city streets, this hip pack is ready for wherever the day takes us.

Almost perfect, but may leave your things "prone to abrasion"

I will start out by saying this bag has the perfect size and look for someone trying to get an unassuming alternative to keeping everything in their pockets -- not too big, not too small. The bag includes a zippered pouch in the back with a very soft lining to keep glasses/sunglasses safe, but that pouch is too small for much else. That leads me into my biggest/sole complaint: there is no other real divider/organization for the bag, meaning that everything else other than your glasses is jumbled at the bottom and free to slide around and scratch each other with every step you take. A simple divider sewn just inside of the zipper, or better yet a removable Velcro divider, would be able to keep your sharp keys away from your phone/wallet for example, and it is something I would definitely be willing to pay for, because this bag is perfect in all other aspects. I might even try to sew something in myself because I found an identical-size Velcro divider elsewhere online, but if they revised this in the future bags, I would buy it instantly because THAT would be the perfect bag for me.
