Here's what customers have to say
The hiking shoes are generally well-received, with many customers praising their comfort, durability, and traction on various terrains. However, some customers have experienced issues with the waterproofing, quality control, and fit. While the shoes appear to be a solid option for many, those requiring truly waterproof footwear may want to consider alternative models or brands.

Worst Hiking Shoe. Heavy and caused blisters!
Do not buy Merrell hiking shoes. I purchased a pair of Merrell Moab (latest version) hiking shoes to hike the Walker’s Classic Haute Route from Chamonix, France to Zermatt, Switzerland this summer. It is a hike about 120 miles through the alps. Lots of rocky steep ascents and descents. I trained in a city with so hills to train on but I put about 100 training miles on them before the Haute Route. During my hike through the alps they were like cement blocks and I had so many blisters that several times a week I had to pop them with a needle, drain them, and put betadine on them. One blister I had to pop twice a day for 5 days before it went away. I met many people on the hiking route and nobody had Merrell’s on. They had other brands which were lightweight and a hybrid between a hiking and running shoe. After the hike I ended up leaving them in a hotel trash can. What a pain and waste of good money. I will never buy Merrell products again. Trust me, buy another lightweight hiking shoe from another brand. I have done a lot of hiking and these were the heaviest and most painful hiking shoes I have worn. Buy Merrell at your own peril!!

A new best friend!
My first pair of moabs. I have been depriving myself of extreme comfort and function for too long. Love this product.

Not as good as they used to be.
I've been wearing Moabs for literal decades. They're my favorite every day shoe. I bought a new pair recently (probably my 7th pair in 10 years), took them out for their first hike, and "Waterproof" now apparently means "leaks like a sieve". I stepped into one little puddle, expecting my feet to stay dry like usual, but found myself sloshing around inside my shoe.

Durable, supportive, and waterproof
Great for walking dogs in the morning in wet grass, hiking, or other outdoor activities. They support my feet well and keep socks dry. Lasted for many months of daily wear. This is my 3rd pair in 3 years. I sprayed them with waterproofing spray a few times to enhance the dryness.

2nd pair after 20+ years.
My first pair lasted me 20+ years and just finally wore out. I am very happy with my replacement and the improvements to the stability of the shoe over time. They do run small, so make sure to order at least a half size bigger than you normally wear.

Fantastic shoes.
I have a pair of the mid height Moab 3 and love them for hiking and general outdoor activities where durability and water resistance is needed. I wanted something equally as comfortable and durable for playing disc golf. Too many times I've come home with soaking wet socks from morning dew on the courses. These fit the bill perfectly and I know they'll last.

Good, comfortable shoe!
Comfortable and sure footed. Only suggestion is to slightly reduce the overhang at the inside of the heels: Intending to use for gravel rides, and the wide heels interfere with the chain stay of my bike.

Repeat purchaser
This is at least my second pair of MOAB 3 Waterproof hiking shoes. I have not found anything that compares!
