love zippered pockets, but aren’t made for hiking

I purchased these pants to replace my previous Marmot hiking pants, which served me well through numerous years of heavy hiking and exhibited remarkable durability. Regrettably, despite my fondness for Marmot products, these hiking pants I felt were unsatisfactory. Unfortunately, I was unable to even try on these pants due to the belt. I was unable to discern how to open the belt, and a Google search indicated that assistive devices may be required. I was apprehensive about damaging the belt and did not open it, as I could not open it with my fingers and was uncertain about the appropriate method or tool. As a person who hikes a lot I felt that these pants were not suitable for hiking because of potential durability and reliability issues but they are sufficient for everyday errands or walks with a dog. I particularly appreciated the multiple zippered pockets, which were the primary reason for my purchase. The belt buckle is a small plastic component, which raised concerns about its potential for breaking with prolonged use. I was hesitant to purchase pants that would be inconvenient due to the belt or that could break with heavy use. Additionally, the belt is non-removable, which is a disadvantage given the plastic buckle and the potential for breakage. Furthermore, instead of button(s), these pants feature small plastic snap button, which is less durable than even metal snap button and which is not suitable for hiking pants. Another observation is that the knee cap area or surrounding area has additional material, unless the pants fit perfectly, there will be extra material hanging around. Additionally, the stretchability of these pants is inferior to that of my previous pants. To enhance these pants into suitable hiking pants, the following modifications are suggested: retain the zipper pockets, add a zippered pocket to the side, remove or make the belt removable, convert the plastic buckle on the belt to a metal buckle, remove the plastic snap button and replace it with regular buttons (preferably) or metal snap button, and return the knee cap area to the standard design or the way hiking pants were traditionally constructed. Additionally, consider replacing the material with a more stretchable material, similar to what was used in the past.

great quality

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] these pants are so great! i wore them on a trip in patagonia and they were perfect - windproof, water repellant, the waist clip is easy to use. very flattering. my only wish is that they came in longer lengths - i’m 5’10 and it barely reaches my ankles so small rocks would get into my shoes

Great quality outdoor pants

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Wow, these pants are such nice quality! These Marmot pants are great for outdoor activities (hiking, walking, biking) and I love the water resistant, stretchy material. They also fit my body perfectly and I feel super confident in them. I’m looking forward to adventuring in them!

Comfy!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] These pants seem really great. They wash well, have held up to walks around the park, and can be worn in office if your office is casual. I haven’t taken them hiking yet because it’s been too cold; they’re definitely shoulder season fabric weight. They fit TTS as well. I usually wear a six in athletic pants (four in athleta) and the six fit perfectly here.

NICE!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I am so excited about these! I’m in South Dakota so for this time of year it’s a bit chilly but are going to be perfect when Spring comes. These outdoor pants are water resistant and very lightweight. The material while soft seems to be really durable and stretchy. These pants have a nice feminine fitting shape with four zippered pockets and a very nice belt. The bottom of the legs have a cinch.

High quality hiking pants

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Unfortunately, these pants ended up being a tad too small for me to wear. I have high hopes that I will lose a little weight and be able to use them because they are such nice quality. The length was great, which is hard to come by with a longer inseam, pants like these tend to be too short and look awkward with shies/boots. I do not think that will be the case with these. I love the included belt and zipper pockets. The pockets are also a nice, deep size, showing the high quality of the pants. Can’t wait to wear them!

Decent hiking pants

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] These are nice hiking pants. They are very breathable and waterproof. My main issue is the non removal belt. It doesn’t secure or come off easily and it’s not easy to tighten. While the pants fit everywhere else, the belt hung loosely in front.

Perfecto

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I work in reality tv production, and work outside a LOT. These are the PERFECT pants for my job, and would be amazing for hiking/outdoor activities as well. They are lightweight, water repellent, and very breathable. Most inportantly, they are comfortable and fit great. I’ll be using these a ton!

Comfortable

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] True to size. Nice adjustable belt for better fit. Moderate rise. Straight fit but not tight on thighs or caves. Nice stretch for comfort. Does not bag out. Seem durable. Breathable. Material a little stiff.

Wish I would like these

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] If I could I would take a picture of these pants but I can’t since they don’t actually fit. I got my usual pants size, based off of measurements, and these still didn’t fit right. I struggle with outdoor pants like these fitting, I always have a hard time getting them over my calves and thighs because god forbid I have leg muscles. I really wish these fit my legs because they would be comfortable with a lot of flex to them but they are too tight on my legs and not flattering since the fit is so bad.
