Lightweight, waterproof Pertex® shell built for breathable protection on the trail
What Our Gearhead® Experts Are Saying:
"The Minimalist Pertex Jacket is my go-to for wet-weather hikes and backpacking trips. It’s lightweight, packs down small, and gives me full confidence when the rain rolls in. The pit zips keep me from overheating, and the water-resistant zippers and taped seams make sure I stay dry. I also love how the pockets sit above my pack’s hip belt, so I can easily grab snacks or my map on the go."
When dark clouds gather, the Minimalist Pertex Jacket keeps us moving forward. This ultra-light, trail-ready shell is built with Pertex® Shield Revolve fabric, delivering durable, waterproof, and windproof protection without the bulk. Fully taped seams and a C0 DWR treatment provide leak-proof confidence, ensuring we stay dry through relentless rain and whipping winds.
When the climb gets steep, pit zips let us vent heat, while an adjustable hood, cuffs, and hem help us lock in warmth when the storm intensifies. Designed for backpackers, hikers, and climbers, this shell’s pack-compatible pockets and streamlined fit make it an essential companion for unpredictable weather in the backcountry.

Excellent rainjacket
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I am very happy with the quality and fit of this rain jacket. Being packable, lightweight and waterproof are all things I was looking for and this jacket checks all the boxes. I was hoping for a pocket or small bag to pack it into.

Women’s Minimalist Pertex Jacket
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I wore my sister’s pertex rain jacket in Hawai’i in 2008. I inherited it when she died. It was falling apart on the inside. Because I loved her and the jacket. I ordered the same one. Same color, everything. I am not disappointed. I’d rather have my sister back, but the jacket is really nice and I wear it in her honor.

Much more quiet than Gore Tex
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This jacket has a soft feel, is breathable, and packs up small. I haven't tested it out in the rain yet but did test it out under the shower and it passed!

Pit zips and pockets usable w/ hip belt
- Familiarity:
- I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
- Size Bought:
- Large
- Height:
- 5' 6"
- Weight:
- 135
PROS: - Pit zips - 2 pockets I can use with a hip belt (idk why this is so hard to find) - Cute color (Matcha) CONS: - Wish the pockets were a little higher - they're hipbelt compatible but I still lose the bottom half of the zipper to the hip belt. - Boxy Fit - I size up so I can layer under, the shoulders fit great then it goes straight down, even with a down jacket underneath, the torso is very boxy - No Interior Lining - I've never had gore-tex so maybe this is par for the course for the "tex" fabrics, but I wish there was a perforated lining so the plasticy fabric isn't next to my skin or midlayer.

Minimalist used to be a Gortex product…
Marmot is cheapening daily. No longer they uae polartec and other higher quality stuff. 3 stars as the fit is not bad. Something that also was horrid about marmot since all the changes was the fit
