Here's what customers have to say
The device offers a reliable assisted-braking mechanism with smooth rope feeding and effortless lowering. It is praised for its simplicity, durability, and user-friendliness, providing an extra layer of safety without the complexity of more expensive options. While not as smooth as some top-roping devices, it is considered more than adequate for most climbing needs and an excellent cost-effective choice, especially for indoor climbing, single-pitch sport routes, and beginner lead belayers.

I love this belay device!
Super simple to operate, uses physics and not mechanical devices, makes it easier to train yourself in high stress conditions, where tactile small motor skills can degrade. Would recommend to novice and experienced climbers.

Great lead-belay device
Super handy gadget that I like best for lead belaying. The best at managing slack and reacts quick under a fall. Lowering is also pretty intuitive. Compared to an ATC it lacks the two-rope design for rappelling but its auto locking (practically auto locking) feature is a bonus. It’s also accepted by most gyms too, haven’t gotten denied yet at least. Simple, efficient and effective!

My favorite passive assisted belay device! The aesthetic of it is super nice, and doesn't feel like a toy like the Black Diamond Pilot.

Super easy to operate and the auto locking feature provides a little extra piece of mind. Works well for rock and ice climbing.

I like this so much, I bought two
This is my favorite single-pitch sport belay device because it feeds ultra fast yet auto blocked pretty fast as well and it's very light weight.

Super useful assisted-belay device
The assisted lowering feature of this belay device is super useful for experienced belayers. This device offers a really smooth experience, but beware allowing its use by the inexperienced, as I’ve seen it help people form bad habits.

Cheaper alternative to BD Pilot
Decent assisted belay device. The lowering action isn't as smooth as the Black Diamond Pilot, which I prefer over the Smart. The Smart is a nice belay device for the price.

Favorite simple belay devide
I have been using this device for a long while now and it is my go to for my regular gym sessions. I've used it extensively for lead and found it's very easy to feed out slack and it locks reasonably well. Won't be quite as good as the gri-gri or pinch for falls but I haven't found that to be an issue.

Excellent device for lead belay. Very easy to use. After trying the Petzl NEOX a few times, I still prefer the 2.0
