Why We Like The Mammut Eiger Free Advanced HS Hooded Jacket
Designed for freeriders and backcountry skiers, Mammut's Eiger Free Advanced Hard Shell Hooded Jacket is ready for whatever the mountain throws at it. It features the new PFC-free GORE-TEX ePE for waterproofing that's durable, breathable, and environmentally responsible with water-resistant zippers to seal out snow, slush, and ice melt. Underarm zippers add ventilation to that breathability to help us dump heat and moisture when we're climbing the skin track or generating plenty of heat when we're charging hard. It ticks the rest of our boxes with its helmet-compatible hood, zip-off snow skirt, and elevated pockets that are compatible with our harness, hipbelt, and day pack.

Back from Alaska
I just spent 2 weeks in Alaska backpacking and it rained on us a couple times and I pulled this out multiple times. I stayed dry the whole time I was wearing it. When I got hot it had Pit zips you can undo and I would cool off very quickly. Great jacket held up well and didn't tear or snag on anything while I was packing.

Took this scrambling up to Bean Peak in Washington on a rainy day and it kept me quite dry! It is quite lightweight and stows well. My only issue with the jacket is that I like to wear my the hood over my climbing helmet however I found that I have to wear my hood under my helmet as there isn't enough space. I am 5'7" with a slim build and the jacket fits me quite well but is a little long in the sleeves.
