Barryvox S2 Beacon

Mammut updated its line of incredibly intuitive beacons with the Barryvox S2 Beacon, upgrading the display and the analog search functions while making the beacon smaller and lighter than ever. The beacon's minimalist design allows us to quickly become familiar with its capabilities after just a few rounds of beacon drills, and the updated guidance features help us stay focused while we search. The triple antenna provides an impressive 70-meter digital range, which is on the high end of most beacons currently available.  

The Barryvox S2 clearly shows us the distance, direction, and number of buried subjects on the brand-new MIP high-contrast display. The new acoustic search guidance emits a tone that guides us in the direction of buried victims so we can find the safest route to cross the avalanche field, and the voice guidance audibly provides clear instructions during high-stress situations. The device will automatically switch back into send mode if we've been still for four minutes, just in case we are involved in an accident while searching for a victim. The beacon comes with alkaline batteries and a carry case to keep so we can quickly get to practicing drills as soon as it arrives.
