We backcountry skiers and splitboarders should know beacons like we know the back of our gloves, so Mammut designed the Barryvox Beacon with an incredibly intuitive design so we can master it quickly. It features a single switch, single button, and separate flagging button for simple, reliable handling that we got the hang of after a few beacon drills. With a triple antenna, the Barrvox boasts an impressive 70-meter digital range that's just as large as most top-end beacons out there.
The Barryvox shows distance, direction, and number of burial victims in an easy-to-see, goggle-friendly display. In search mode, the Barryvox automatically switches back into send mode if the beacon's been still for four minutes, just in case we get in an accident while looking for a victim. Mammut included alkaline batteries and a carry case that keeps the beacon close to your chest.

Very easy to use. Nice interface. Easy to operate with gloves on. Battery life is solid and the screen is easy to read in the variety of lightning situations that I've experienced so far. Highly recommend for anyone who needs a transponder.

The best beacon I have used
This beacon is extremely reliable and easy to use. There's a reason that all my touring partners seem to have this same beacon. It does exactly what it needs to do, and does it well. Fortunately, I have only used it for practice rescues, never for a real accident, but it performs well every time.

It works great. I took it out for this season and thankfully had zero problems! Synced with my group easily, and for the price, I can't complain.

Fragile
The brass colored contacts in the battery compartment are fragile, and can break when removing batteries. Up until then, it works fine.
