Drone Comp Series Low Volume Climbing Shoe grips hard and fits like a glove on steep projects
What Our Gearhead® Experts Are Saying:
"I’ve used the Drone Comp LV on steep indoor comp-style problems and outdoor boulders—it’s unbeatable for toe and heel hooking. The fit is super secure, especially in the heel, and the softness gives me excellent feedback on volumes and smears. This is the shoe I reach for when I need precision and confidence."
When we're working on steep, cryptic boulder problems or dialing in beta on modern competition routes, we slip into the Mad Rock Drone Comp Series Low Volume Climbing Shoe for next-level precision. This aggressive shoe gives us a downturned platform for powerful toe engagement and precise edging, while the soft construction and sticky rubber keep us locked onto volumes, smears, and glassy footholds alike.
A new molded construction gives the Drone Comp a snug, foot-hugging fit with zero dead space, reducing weight and waste in the process. The vegan synthetic upper is low-stretch and breaks in with just the right amount of give. Mad Rock's Xtreme Friction rubber and patented concave sole deliver sensitivity and grip without sacrificing structure. With a lower-volume shape tailored for narrow feet, this shoe keeps us confident when the margin for error is razor thin.

I bought the Low Volumes after two pairs of the High Volumes and they were such a better fit. Toe hooks and heel hooks have never felt so confident , I get sensitivity thats unmatched with any other shoe I’ve had and I can’t get over the glove like fit once you break them in. Will buy again and again and again

I have been wearing Mad Rock Drones for years and am in love with the new Comp Series. The shoe is more aggressive (down-turned) and the edge is crisper. The CS is slightly more narrow than my other Drone LVs which fits my foot even better. I love how easy it is to edge in these shoes!
