Customer Images

Here's what customers have to say

The hiking shoes are generally well-received, with many customers praising their comfort, support, and waterproof features. Reviewers appreciate the wide toe box, sturdy sole, and overall fit. Many report the shoes are comfortable right out of the box with little to no break-in period. However, some customers have experienced issues with the fit and durability, finding the shoes larger or wider than expected and noting premature wear of the soles or other parts. Overall, the shoes appear to be a popular and reliable option, though fit and durability concerns have been reported by some customers.

Love!

These shoes are perfect right out of the box. I work landscaping, and put tons of wear on them. They always hold up. This is my 3rd pair. They have a nice wide toes box area too which is perfect for me.

Poor sole construction

Have a pair of 3 year old Women's Targhee Waterproof which have been well cared for and not heavily used. However, the first layer of the sole is now separating from the rest of the sole. The warranty is only for 1 year. For the price of these boots, the soles should definitely last longer and have a better warranty. Friends are having the same problem.

Very stiff shoe

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I tried these on in store and thought that walking around was okay, but when hiking in them, it's clear that the stiffness and lack of cushion are not comfortable. I suppose the expectation is that if you buy these shoes, you also need to have great thick hiking socks and a softer sole insert.

Worst Keens ever

Awful fit. I've been buying Keens in store and on line for at least 12 years. The first pair in store to try for fit, subsequently on line, in the secure knowledge that they were a good fit. This pair didn't quite feel the same as usual, but I gave them the benefit of the doubt and wore them. Never again. I have knee problems and these were such an awful sloppy fit that after a while I realized that I was going to have to ditch them, because they were making me unstable. I'm very unhappy to toss a pair of shoes that would normally last me a year or more. Not a huge loss, but when every penny counts, this is a huge disappointment. Will think twice again before buying Keens, which used to be a no-brainer.

I got these to replace

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I got these to replace my #1023038 which I loved & can no longer find locally. The arch is too high and it makes the shoe very uncomfortable. I've only worn them inside the house once and cannot bear to put them on again!

Disappointment after over 10 years of wearing Keens

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I am not happy about writing my disappointment of this last pair of Keens that I purchased and have now returned. In fact this is my second pain of Keens that have not met up to my expectations. I have been able to purchase size 8. 5 ladies Keen shoes for almost 20 years without ever having to try them on and they fit perfectly without any need to "Break-in" But my last 2 purchases have even come close to that statement. First - After trying to convince myself that the hiking boots I purchased about a year ago would improve - I finally gave them to a non-profit for sale. Thinking that was a one off, I ordered the Targhee (I have worn out my prior pair i owned) Unfortunately - Keen has changed there shoe moulds or manufacturer or both. I put them on, walked around the house, put them back in the box and asked for a refund. It just was not comfortable! I will be looking for another brand to fill my needs on supportive walking and hiking from now on. Still wearing my old black causal shoe from years gone by - but they will be my last.

I have "peasant" feet as my mother used to say - wide with big toe the longest. Hard to fit w USA sizing but Keen works. My last pair of Targhee lasted almost 10 years. This new pair is comfortable right out of the box and I can wear hiking Sox with them. Honestly can't say enough good things!
