Here's what customers have to say
The hiking boots are generally well-received, with customers praising their comfort, support, and waterproofing. Many report the boots are comfortable right out of the box with good arch support and a wide toe box. However, some have experienced issues with the quality and durability, such as the soles and waterproofing failing prematurely. A few also found the boots too narrow or stiff around the ankles. Overall, the boots seem to be a good choice for hiking, but the quality and fit may vary, so it's important to try them on and monitor their performance.

Perfect right out of the box!
Perfect right out of the box. The toe box is roomy, the heel cup cradles, and the support and flexibility are great on the trail.

Second time
My husband bought this several years ago and he wore it well and needed a replacement. He has a small , narrow and high arch foot and the Women's size fit him well and its appearance seems for both genders.

Material on the side broke immediately
When I got them I was very happy for them. Great fit and comfort. Sadly the material on the side started breaking after a few hikes already:( making them lose all their watertightness. it’s really a bummer because I liked them otherwise. I messed up the guarantee thing, so this one is just for the books

Super comfortable work shoes!
I finally caved and bought these after my old work shoes were actively falling apart and I wish I bought these sooner! They're super comfortable and I'm often on my feet for 12 hours a day in them. They have great traction and support while not feeling clunky. I'm excited to wear them hiking soon!

This is my second pair
This is my second pair of Targhee 111 and I really like them. I hike 20 miles a week and they are very comfortable .

Not waterproof
I love the way these boots fit. I have had them for about a year and I do not wear them often. Walking in some slushy snow today, my feet got wet! Disappointed. My Targhee 2 from many years ago are worn out, but still waterproof.

Mid not for me.
Love them, but the mid drove me nuts. Returning for low.

Best shoes in my closet
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Bought a pair of Targhee III waterproof hiking shoes for a trip whalewatching in the Baja. But while breaking them in, they have become my favorite go-to shoes. I feel like a tall Goddess with strong feet. Love them.

Outer leather brings water to the ankles
After walking 30 mins in light rain, my socks around my ankles were wet, though my pants at the ankles were dry. (Bootcut pants, so over the shoe) No puddle stomping so this is baffling, and I can only assume that the leather must have wicked the water up and over the collar, leading to damp ankles. Comfortable otherwise.
